An Autumn Eve #TheThreeWords Grass sprinkled with dew drops, Night draws closer by each tick of the clock, A silent eve, without a whisper from the wind, As I lay by the illuminated dock. It seems like an eternity, Before night falls upon us once more, For now dusk is all that engulfs us, While the air is bitter and raw. Fragments of day and night fit together, Darkness and light compromise, As I gaze at the undecided, mixed sky, Waiting for the beating sun to rise.
Starry Night #titlechallenge An inky blackness, Heavy and dense, Dark and gloomy, A false pretence. For diamonds shine, Twinkle and glow, Some gold and glitter, Some white as snow. As I lay here, With my watery gaze, I stare at the beauty, That closes the days. The stars amaze me, With their radiant shimmer, That dances in my eyes, And continue to glimmer.
Shattered Dreams #titlechallenge My only ever hope and dream, Was to live a happy #life, My family to be unharmed, Not threatened with a knife. My #life isn't a fairytale, My dream didn't come true, But mother, let me tell you that, I will always love you. You left me and my sisters, I know it wasn't your choice, First, you heard cold whispers, In a taunting, chilling voice. They told you they'd protect you, They couldn't be more wrong, Inevitably, you went with them, But that's not where you belong. They threatened and they laughed at you, And played with you like food, But the last decision was horrific, Evil, heartless, crude. A knife took your #life away, Revenge is what I crave, They shattered my only dream, Mother couldn't be saved.
Enchanted Potion #TheThreeWords Casting shadows across the land, Light peaking through the trees, The eerie forest faintly glows, The terror will never cease. Witches cackle recklessly, Shrieking hex after hex, With that they flick their wooden wand, In a pattern, so complex. Cauldron brimming with curses, Potions that cause such pain, Witches are fed with power, From that, they can't refrain. Fairies elegantly dance by, Sprinkling goodness into the mix, Turning the potion to a deep gold, Their dainty wands are flicked. The witch returns, face green with rage, As she sees her potion now gold, She shakes her bony fist in rage, While the fairies stand, brave and bold. "The potion is now enchanted!" A little fairy squeaks, She bows her head and flushes red, This fairy gentle and meek. Another fairy muttered spells, Her wand pointing at the witch, The woman, white with terror, Melted with a final twitch. The witch had finally left them, Her #life brought others grief, Goodness overpowers evil, That is a strong belief.
