Hi! So just a quick question...how often would you like me to update the story? Because I'd like it to be accessible to lots of people, tell me in the comments Okay, enjoy the new chapter! Chapter 3 Once all traces of jam had been removed, is shrugged on my coat and ran outside. The cold, crisp, air hit my face hard. I breathed in the lungfuls of Scottish air...and for the first time in, for it seemed forever....I gave a genuine smile. It was a long walk to the village and I started to wish I'd brought gloves, my fingers felt icy and horribly numb. I stared at all the countryside around me to distract myself from the stabbing cold in my poor fingers. I gawped like an idiot at practically everything, the trees seemed as tall as giants and seemed to laugh at me mockingly in the chilly wind. "Oh shut it!" I snapped at a seriously rude tree and was given an extremely odd look from an old lady walking her dog. I felt my face burn with embarrassment. Why was I talking to trees? Carrie stop being so WEIRD girl... It was with a flushed face that I walked into the little village and wondered hopelessly where to go. A group of teens in hoodies were clustered around the entrance of a poky, little newsagents shop and sharing a cigarette. I couldn't help watching enviously at the prettiest girl of them all. She was laughing carelessly, her long, blonde, hair blowing behind her. She also happened to be grinning at something behind me. I turned around curiously. What were they finding so hilarious? Then it dawned on me...they were laughing at me! I suddenly was aware that I was wearing last years, pink raincoat and my hair had exploded into an uncontrollable frizz. I also had a red, snotty, nose and perhaps worst of all...a strawberry jam stain across my cheek My cheeks went as red as the stupid jam and I made a run for it into the nearest shop I could see. I slammed the door shut behind me...already I had made a fool of myself! Why me? "Looking for a loaf?" a gentle voice asked as the bell tinkled behind me. I blinked. "Err, sorry?". I squinted around the shop and realised that I was in a bakery, it smelled warm, tasty and a soft golden glow seemed to radiate from the gorgeous bread lying on the counter. "Well..." the voice continued, "Yer seemed in such a hurry to get in! Surely you were looking for the world famous-amazin'-legendary-butter side up bread?". I finally realised who was speaking, a boy about my age with light brown hair and chocolatey eyes was looking at me intently from across the counter. I went towards him cautiously. "Butter-side up?" I repeated and he grinned. "Like the name? Me dad thought it up!". "Um. Lovely." I said, continuing staring out the window at the group of teens still hanging about. "So. Yer gonna buy that bread?" he asked hopefully. I smiled faintly. "That depends. How do I know it's famous-legendary-amazing?" I asked

Hi everyone, so here's chapter 3 (so excited about this one!) and I hope you like it Chapter 3 After a week in our new house, we had finally the basic standards of living, heat, light, running water and endless cups of tea. Or in Chrissies case, the hairdryer and iPhone. But anyway, although we'd been in this house for a week, it still felt distinctly odd. Like we were sneaking around where we shouldn't, I knew it was ridiculous, but I felt a guilty sort of thrill whilst exploring the many, many rooms of the mansion. I tried to get Chrissie to come and explore but she was not having it. "No." she scowled flatly, "I am not getting dust on me! Eurgh, this house sucks!". "There might be some old clothes or something..." I suggested but she still looked unimpressed. "I've got clothes! Are you really that desperate Carrie?" Chrissie asked pityingly and I marched out of the room crossly. On Sunday, I woke up much earlier than usual and propped my elbow on the bed thoughtfully, it was so quiet here...so dead. Well obviously not dead, but it felt cold and empty. I hated that feeling and suddenly shivered violently. Well, it wouldn't be for much longer, Chrissie and I were starting school on Monday, something I was particularly dreading. As I had pointed out before, popularity and coolness were something I dreamed about. Not things that had actually happened to me. I didn't want to think about school today though, I quietly got up and dressed hastily. I sighed slightly at the inch of dust on everything in my room...Chrissie perhaps had a point, the dust WAS annoying. I crept down the long stairs and slipped ever-so-quietly into the kitchen...what to eat for breakfast? I checked in the cupboard, we had 2 slices of bread and a pot of jam left. Someone definitely had to go shopping sooner or later. I picked up the jam, just about to prise the lid of when the door flew open with a terrific "BANG!". I jumped and unconsciously let it slip through my fingers and smash onto the floor. "Carrie! My jam!" Chrissie moaned marching in, "I wanted some on toast for breakfast...". "It's not YOUR jam" I pointed out irritated, "-and I wouldn't have dropped it if you hadn't barged in like a nut case". I looked down at the slowly expanding pool of ruby-red jam. I suddenly felt fully thankful we had tiles in the kitchen. "Well you are cleaning that up" I announced, "The mop is in the cupboard...chop chop!". "No way." "YES way" "NO" "YES!" "NO!!" "OH YES YOU ARE!" "OH NO I'M NOT!!". Then Mum suddenly burst in, "Will you two pipe down!" she exclaimed, " The neighbours will hear you!". "But we haven't got any neighbours" Chrissie pointed out and Mum smacked her head. "Oh yes, I keep on forgetting that...". She sighed and then her eyes were drawn to the pool of jam on the floor. "Oh for Heavens Sake, who dropped the jam?", "Carrie did Mum!" Chrissie said immediately. I bit my lip awkwardly, "Sorry Mum...but we're running low on food, I'll buy some in the village today if you want?". "Oh would you love?" Mum asked looking relieved, "I've got a terrible headache." "Great!" I said grabbing the purse and keys. "Right AFTER you've cleaned up the jam...". Chrissie grinned in triumph. Damn it.

Hi thanks for any comments and likes on my first chapter...keep 'em coming! So enjoy the next part... Chapter 2 The house was even worse inside, Chrissie started to howl loudly as we opened the large, oak door to reveal a dozen spiders. "No! Mum! Take us BACK!" she shrieked angrily, "I hate it, I hate it I hate it...!". "Chrissie SHUT UP!!!" I suddenly bellowed and she fell silent, her blue eyes looking shocked and hurt. Mum stared at me too and I felt guilt slide over me like slimy, green, goo. Just minutes ago my mother had told me she was proud of me for how well I was coping...what had I done? "I'm sorry" I mumbled into the silence and Chrissie gave a reproachful sniff, "Well you didn't need to yell at me..." she said in a teeny tiny voice. "I know I didn't. Sorry Chris.". Then I broke the silence yet again, "Look let's have a cup of tea OK? It'll cheer us up!", I jumped towards the closest door to see if it was the kitchen. There was a light switch on the wall, so I flicked it on and looked up at the ceiling hopefully. Nothing. "Oh for heavens sake!" Mum glowered angrily, "That old biddy SWORE we'd have light and heat! What a con!" She groaned. "Well, there's nothing for it...Carrie love?" Mum wheedled looking at me pleadingly. "OK, OK..." I sighed, "Where's the toolbox?". I'm the only one in our family who has the slightest idea how to fix anything, Mum can barely bang a nail in and Chrissie wouldn't even if she could. Our Dad was an electrician and I'd always chat with him while he was busy working. Occasionally he'd let me have a fiddle around with the wires and tools while he got on with the job. As I got older, I was trusted to do more important tasks and by the age of 12, I could fix the electrics better than Dad. At least that was what he always joked about. "Here's my little light bulb!" he'd grin, every time I came to see him. Then Dad would fish in his pocket and find out a shiny 20p. For being a 'Good Girl'. I loved my Dad. But then it all changed. "Carrie!". I was suddenly aware of someone poking me, I must have gone off in a little daydream. "Mum just said the toolbox is in the kitchen" Chrissie said and I nodded, my face red. "Yes...sorry...I'll get right to it...".

Hi! So I thought that instead of #poems, I'd try to write some stories for a while so...here goes! Enjoy ( Unless you hate it...) Chapter 1 The Autumn we moved, it was so much colder than usual. At the time none of our family really noticed this...but really after the golden sun of Cornwall, could you blame us? I hated the very idea of Scotland. Wet. Rain. Kilts...ok you don't see MANY kilts, but still... It was even worse leaving my friends, I don't really have the knack for making friends at all. My Mum says Chrissie (my sister) and I were born on whole different planets. It always depressed me that my eleven year old sister was the most popular girl in her year and always had little gaggles of her girlfriends giggling together in her room. Meanwhile, I'd be doing my maths homework and rearranging my troll collection. But anyway, as we drew up in the car to our new house I saw Chrissie's mouth drop open in horror. "Mum!" she groaned, "This is our HOUSE? Eww! What IS this? The Adams Family?" Well I had to agree with Chrissie on that one, the ancient crumbling mansion had all the charm of a dead slug. If we had to move into an old mansion, I was hoping it'd be at least clean. But no. Cobwebs hung of it like a seriously cliché "Haunted House". "It's...classy!" Mum said in a determinedly cheery voice, "and won't all your new friends be jealous at such a lovely, big mansion?" Chrissie scowled, "Not if a bunch of ghosts live in it...". I put my arm around her, "C'mon Chris! You can have first pick of the bedrooms!" I said nobly and she perked up a bit. "Promise Carrie?". "Yep" I replied, already regretting what I said. Chrissie made no objection and hurtled out the car yelling behind her shoulder: "Hurry UP! I want the bedroom with that four poster you promised Mum!". I went to open the door, but Mum stopped me. "Mum?", "Thanks love..." she smiled at me and then sighed wearily, "I know it's been hard on you girls recently. But we're going to make this work OK?". I bit my lip, I wasn't so sure about that. "I mean it!" Mum pressed on, "We'll make it brilliant in our new house! Right?". "Umm, right." Chrissie suddenly thumped on the window making us both jump, "Hurry up slow coaches!" she bellowed excitedly and I opened the door laughing, ready to step into our new #life.

Women need chocolate Women always need chocolate, it's a well-known, world wide fact. Girls always need chocolate, because chocolate will never slack. Sweetness in your darkest hours, serotonin to keep you sane! The only drawback is, a little weight you'll gain. Chocolate is made for women, it is such a delight! It's comfort in seclusion, morning, noon and night. If anyone ever banned candy, I'd be feeling pretty sore. But if someone ever banned CHOCOLATE... I think we'd all start a war. Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed
