Hi! So I thought that instead of #poems, I'd try to write some stories for a while so...here goes! Enjoy ( Unless you hate it...) Chapter 1 The Autumn we moved, it was so much colder than usual. At the time none of our family really noticed this...but really after the golden sun of Cornwall, could you blame us? I hated the very idea of Scotland. Wet. Rain. Kilts...ok you don't see MANY kilts, but still... It was even worse leaving my friends, I don't really have the knack for making friends at all. My Mum says Chrissie (my sister) and I were born on whole different planets. It always depressed me that my eleven year old sister was the most popular girl in her year and always had little gaggles of her girlfriends giggling together in her room. Meanwhile, I'd be doing my maths homework and rearranging my troll collection. But anyway, as we drew up in the car to our new house I saw Chrissie's mouth drop open in horror. "Mum!" she groaned, "This is our HOUSE? Eww! What IS this? The Adams Family?" Well I had to agree with Chrissie on that one, the ancient crumbling mansion had all the charm of a dead slug. If we had to move into an old mansion, I was hoping it'd be at least clean. But no. Cobwebs hung of it like a seriously cliché "Haunted House". "It's...classy!" Mum said in a determinedly cheery voice, "and won't all your new friends be jealous at such a lovely, big mansion?" Chrissie scowled, "Not if a bunch of ghosts live in it...". I put my arm around her, "C'mon Chris! You can have first pick of the bedrooms!" I said nobly and she perked up a bit. "Promise Carrie?". "Yep" I replied, already regretting what I said. Chrissie made no objection and hurtled out the car yelling behind her shoulder: "Hurry UP! I want the bedroom with that four poster you promised Mum!". I went to open the door, but Mum stopped me. "Mum?", "Thanks love..." she smiled at me and then sighed wearily, "I know it's been hard on you girls recently. But we're going to make this work OK?". I bit my lip, I wasn't so sure about that. "I mean it!" Mum pressed on, "We'll make it brilliant in our new house! Right?". "Umm, right." Chrissie suddenly thumped on the window making us both jump, "Hurry up slow coaches!" she bellowed excitedly and I opened the door laughing, ready to step into our new #life.
