Hi! So just a quick question...how often would you like me to update the story? Because I'd like it to be accessible to lots of people, tell me in the comments Okay, enjoy the new chapter! Chapter 3 Once all traces of jam had been removed, is shrugged on my coat and ran outside. The cold, crisp, air hit my face hard. I breathed in the lungfuls of Scottish air...and for the first time in, for it seemed forever....I gave a genuine smile. It was a long walk to the village and I started to wish I'd brought gloves, my fingers felt icy and horribly numb. I stared at all the countryside around me to distract myself from the stabbing cold in my poor fingers. I gawped like an idiot at practically everything, the trees seemed as tall as giants and seemed to laugh at me mockingly in the chilly wind. "Oh shut it!" I snapped at a seriously rude tree and was given an extremely odd look from an old lady walking her dog. I felt my face burn with embarrassment. Why was I talking to trees? Carrie stop being so WEIRD girl... It was with a flushed face that I walked into the little village and wondered hopelessly where to go. A group of teens in hoodies were clustered around the entrance of a poky, little newsagents shop and sharing a cigarette. I couldn't help watching enviously at the prettiest girl of them all. She was laughing carelessly, her long, blonde, hair blowing behind her. She also happened to be grinning at something behind me. I turned around curiously. What were they finding so hilarious? Then it dawned on me...they were laughing at me! I suddenly was aware that I was wearing last years, pink raincoat and my hair had exploded into an uncontrollable frizz. I also had a red, snotty, nose and perhaps worst of all...a strawberry jam stain across my cheek My cheeks went as red as the stupid jam and I made a run for it into the nearest shop I could see. I slammed the door shut behind me...already I had made a fool of myself! Why me? "Looking for a loaf?" a gentle voice asked as the bell tinkled behind me. I blinked. "Err, sorry?". I squinted around the shop and realised that I was in a bakery, it smelled warm, tasty and a soft golden glow seemed to radiate from the gorgeous bread lying on the counter. "Well..." the voice continued, "Yer seemed in such a hurry to get in! Surely you were looking for the world famous-amazin'-legendary-butter side up bread?". I finally realised who was speaking, a boy about my age with light brown hair and chocolatey eyes was looking at me intently from across the counter. I went towards him cautiously. "Butter-side up?" I repeated and he grinned. "Like the name? Me dad thought it up!". "Um. Lovely." I said, continuing staring out the window at the group of teens still hanging about. "So. Yer gonna buy that bread?" he asked hopefully. I smiled faintly. "That depends. How do I know it's famous-legendary-amazing?" I asked
