Real Beauty Once upon a time in a land far away, Where wealth & health adorned every mans way, There lived a prince of extreme riches, And there also lived a beautiful princess, They had been best friends since forever, Met, sat and talked at the gardens together, No need to say, they were madly in love, But alas, destiny had written a story from above. The Prince soon had to leave for a war, with his warriors to a land afar, The princess wept bitterly at his depart, It hurt her so to be apart! She hugged him and kissed his hair, And watched him leave, in despair. Days turned to weeks to months to years, No one could stop her overflowing tears, Then one day the news was brought by some, That they had won, but they still couldn't come, Every one was awaiting their return, But time goes fast, memories fade and burn. Then one day the prince came with a veil over his face, One glance and the Princess knew something was out of place, First few days he and the warriors were welcomed with grace, Then everyone returned to their daily race, The princess waited at the garden, but he didn't come to meet, She grew more and more morose, her happiness sweeping off her feet. Then one day as she passed by she heard him say, To another friend that, he couldn't love her anyway, Because in the war his face had been burnt unrecognizable, Hearing this the Princess felt more miserable, And more so when he said that she deserved better, She couldn't hear no more and wept bitter. Then ignoring his could shoulder, She decided to get bolder, She barged in his room with fury, And tore the cloth to reveal his injury, Then she wept and kissed his cheeks, face, hair, Kissed him till he had to breather for air. The Prince was shocked at this, But he happily returned the kiss. Then the Princess said him "I love you" Don't you think I am pretty enough for us two? Have you any idea how I have lived all alone? Everyday was hell when you were gone. How could you think these petty things in #life? Can stop me from being your wife? After all, real beauty is what lives inside, And from lovers eyes it cannot hide. On hearing this, the Prince was filled with shame, Then he heard someone calling his name. Turned back to see the King and the Queen, Everything they heard and seen, "I think after so much hard work and strife, You rightfully deserve such a beautiful wife" And then what was more, it was a happy ending, Oh wait no, it was new beginning, Because real love can never end, Especially when your lover is such a wonderful friend
