The Angel In The Midst The Angel in the Midst Someone once asked me, What would you do, if the world was ending? And my first thought was of you. My heart started pounding and my mind ran away, To that desolate future where I find you one day. Armageddon approaching, the world has gone black A wasteland replaces our houses and flats. The sun, like God, is now but a myth, Its existence unproven and its warmth now eclipsed. Hope now a mystery, the world shrouded in cloud, What is that one thing that can be found? I stare through the darkness, the fire and smoke, And something shines through that impenetrable dark cloak. Not even God or the sun could break through that void, As I stood alone in the shadows as the world was destroyed. But this angel appeared and showed me the truth of the myth, The sun’s light in her eyes as her words spoke its kindness; Then the world broke around her, Into the shadows she fell, as I stood there watching, Hope fall into hell. I wake from my day dream and think about you, The being which only in my dreams can come true The angel who guides me through the pain the world spreads, My God and my sun and that voice in my head. My answer to the question will always burn true, When the world’s at its end and the sun is subdued, So long as #life still has meaning and true love remains strong, Nothing can hurt us. We are where we belong.
