Meeting Lily I sat in a High tree. which towered over the crusty leaves below me. The last time I was sat in a tree, I had been pointing at a nest of tracker jackers, now I'm just sitting there making a daisy chain, out of Lillie's they are my favourite flowers. I circled my head for who I should give the pretty flowered bracelet to, when it was complete I smiled. It was my first daisy chain and I was very proud of myself. Suddenly I heard the crusty leaves crumble from below my tree. I listened for a while until I worked out the footwork, it was Defiantly Katniss, I could also hear Prims delicate feet walk on the musty ground. As usual I had my plan, I was going to jump down and scare them both, the last time I did that, Katniss jumped from her skin pulling Primrose to the ground with her, I dirtied both of there dresses, but it was funny. I ruffled my candy floss hair before jumping to the floor, "Rarrrrrrr!" I cried as I looked up expecting to see Katniss laughing, "Hello....?" A little voice said from above me, I looked up to see a little girl, no older than seven, she looked a lot like Posy, but with blonde hair. I picked my self up and brushed dirt of my trousers. "Sorry, did I scare you?" I bit my lip, the little girls eyes trembled, "A bit" her voice was wobbled "I'm Rue, I'm really sorry, I thought you were my friends" She smiled "It's ok, I'm Lily" I gasped "Lily?" "Yeah" she giggled a little "You better have this" I handed her the Lilly bracelet I had made in the tree, "it signals you name" She smiled and gave me a large hug, I was surprised, I hadn't had an actual hug in a long while, "Thankyou" I hugged her back, She suddenly started crying, I looked at her face and wiped away her tears, "What's the matter?" I asked her softly, as I brushed back her blonde curls, "I don't have a family" she took a breath "I'm all alone" I sighed "That's terrible, you can be my sister?" She smiled with delight "Okay" We both hugged before I held Lily's hand and took her to my home.

Getting Picked I woke up early on the morning of the reaping, everyone does I'm sure. It will be my first but my name will be in that glass ball so many times because I am the oldest child and have to get tesserae for the rest of my family. My Mummy, Daddy, and all of by brothers and sisters. I always give most of my meals to my youngest sister, Jasmine. She is only 2. I was the only one up in the old run-down house, So I quietly got myself a tiny portion of dried groosling and sat down to eat it. For once in my #life I actually wasn't hungry, what a strange feeling it was. All of a sudden, Daddy woke up with a start because I had accidentally scraped the only chair we had, a little too loudly on the cold, stone floor. He saw me and slowly got out of bed. "How you feeling Rue?" He said with enthusiasm. I looked sadly at him willing myself not to cry, " Be strong, Be strong, You have to be strong", that voice inside my head chanted. I just shrugged. Daddy started getting breakfast for everyone else. On reaping day, harvesting ends at 10 o' clock. Then everyone in the district meets in the square for the ceremony at noon. Right now it would be around 5 o 'clock. We start work at 6. After work, Mummy went into her cupboard and brought out a gorgeous pale green dress with embroidery. " This was my first reaping dress, Rue. I want you to wear it today." "Ok, But I think it will be too big." I said "Don't worry, we can fix it up. Try it on now." The dress was stunning, It worked so well with my dark skin. It also fit perfectly. Jasmine came up and hugged me. I bet she had no idea what was even happening. We walked into the square, where I was told to go stand in a pen with all the older 12 year old girls. I gave my family a hug and followed the guard. "Be brave, be brave." Said that voice inside my head again. It was time now, The member of the capitol had finished his speeches and was reaching his hand into the boy's sphere. " The male tribute from District 11 will be......Thresh Clawther. I gulped. "The female tribute will be.... Rue Parsgrove. I was stunned. The world began to fade from my focus. I was going to die

I'm Going In The Games Again. I awake on a bright and shining day. With dread today is the day of my first reaping. 12 years old and already has 10 tesseries. A night without much sleep all i want to do is lay down. I can't do that though I drag myself out of bed and put on my white dress that I only wear for special occasions. This i think isn't very special. I walk to the kitchen as quietly as I can trying not to wake any of my brothers or sisters. My mom is already awake sitting in the kitchen eating grain the only thing we have. She looks at me. "How did you sleep?" she asks "Not very well I had a nightmare." "About what?" "What do you think mom? It's reaping day. In my dream I was running as fast as I could and someone caught up to me and BAM! There goes the cannon." I start crying I cant help it I'm so scared. My mom holds me close. I know I shouldn't be freaking out like this there are kids with their names in the over 50 or so times I need to calm down. My mother goes and wakes up my dad its his shift for harvesting. He kisses me on the head tells me he loves me and leaves. I say goodbye too all my siblings kissing each one of them on the forehead as well. My mom and I walk towards the reaping center but before we reach it I see Jolene my best friend and one of the best harvesters in the district. Her mom is hugging her crying on Jolene's shoulder. I can't help thinking shouldn't that be the other way around? 15 years old and with over 40 tersseries she has got to be scared out of her mind. Finally Jolene gets her mom to let go of her by literally forcing her way out. I walk to her and as she whips the tears of her shoulder. "Are you ready?" I ask. "Ready as I'll ever be I guess." She says with a tinge of fear in her voice. "Yea me too." She grabs my hand and we walk the rest of the way together. When we get to the Justice Building we have to divide but before we do she turns and looks at me straight in the eye and asks. "Rue I'm terrified. Please Promise me if anything happens to me out there that you will tell my family how much I love and care about them when I'm gone." I nod my head yes and hug her thats all I can do without losing it. We finally leave each other going to our own age groups. I see Oliver Clark on the stage his hair brilliant yellow and wearing a whitish gray suite. The reaping bowls sitting right in front of him. When he starts speaking about how the Hunger Games began I start shaking my whole body is fidgeting my hands are spazzing. When he finally done, he walks over to the girls bowl digs his hand in lifts out the thin slit of paper. As he opens his mouth my shaking becomes more violent and my heart races. He finally says it. My Name. My teeth chatter together, I look over to Jolene who had dropped her body to the floor, I wanted to scream, but I knew I couldn't, "I can't go in again" I whispered, "Not the games again" I closed my eyes and somehow hoped Katniss, Peeta, or Gale might have been chosen, I would never have an Allie otherwise.

Hi I'm Rue I'm a small, 12-year-old female tribute from District 11 who was selected to participate in the 74th Hunger Games. I am often described as being small and easily underestimated by other tributes, which I hated. I had formed an alliance with Katniss after warning her about a nest of tracker jackers, That was a good idea for me! I decided to trust Katniss partly because of the pin she wore over her heart, the famous mockingjay pin. Primrose and Posy are my friends, Gale Fail and PeetaChip are also my friends! Everyone in district 11 is going jolly guys, I love animals and music to, especially my Tune I whistle in my district, thresh is ok, but only talks to me when I do something Amazingly good and he's impressed.
