A First Attempt?...
As this is my first attempt at ranting about the things that are important or relevant to me, I should warn the unlucky few that the opinions expressed in these blogs are mine and feel free to argue about them with me.
So... To start with I will talk about something that is very relevant to me, the weather, I know it is uncontrollable but still it feels like it is always against me. As a cricketer I depend heavily on the weather as for some reason we cannot play in the rain, so during the summer months, April to September my eyes are fixed onto various applications for the weather on Friday nights, this has become somewhat of a ritual for me. Anyway, to the main point of this blog, the unfortunate story of summer 2014, I cannot deny that the weather has been very good for the last two months and we have just had supposedly the hottest July for many, many years. But what they fail to tell you in these optimistic weather forecasts is that most Saturdays have been very wet, I don't mean a bit of rain here and there, I mean torrential rain where it has not stopped for a whole day. I will not be the only cricketer who feels somewhat demoralised when Sunday to Friday is wall to wall sunshine, and then on Friday night an overpaid and lets face it, overly happy moron in a cheap suit tells us that it's "not looking good" for the weekend, no what they mean is Saturday. I will take you back to summer 2013, where the summer was perfect, we had very little rain and a lot of sun, also very good weather consistently on Saturdays. I shall reiterate what I said earlier, we cannot control the weather but seriously, someone must hate me, it's rained most Saturdays this summer, one example which I found to be like a kick in the crotch, two weeks ago now (i think) Monday to Friday we had temperatures of 25-28 degrees, so optimistically I looked at the forecast for Saturday and what did I see? Thunderstorms, chance of rain- 100%, when breaking it down to the hourly forecast, it rained from the early hours to 9pm, and to its credit, it lived up to the forecast, it rained and rained. It has come to the point now where the summer is beginning to turn into autumn, so the weather is expected to deteriorate so as you can imagine, my expectations are not very high anymore, but I would like to go back to last week, our friends on the BBC said "3 weeks of Mediterranean weather"... It lasted 3 days now we are back to dreary grey clouds constantly, not that I am complaining, now I have something to moan about on a daily basis.
So I will end this first attempt at a blog, I hope the few that find this enjoyed it, I will hopefully become more accustomed to writing like this in the near future so I hope I have not put you off for #life.
