Chapter 4 We get to the big building. Jason stares at me and I stare back. We enter and the first thing I hear is, hey stiff. It's a slang for the government career, because we are organized and do everything looking neat and...stiff. Jason says,"what's your name?". I answer with teagen. He smiles at me and says," you have an unique name. I can tell he is from the scientists by the way he talks but I like it. Our trainer leads us to a big room with lots of bunks and says sternly,"this is where you will sleep for the next 4 months while training!". He a assigns us bunks to sleep in by pairs, and because me and Jason are next to eachother, we sleep at the same bunk. I'm not exactly comfortable with sleeping in a room with the opposite gender in the room but I can live. "I call top bunk!", I say to Jason. He says,"you don't act very much like a stiff do you?" "No I guess I don't, now that I'm out of that career." He smiles. We both get different clothes. I wear grey because that is my career color. He wears blue because that is his. I get dressed I front of everyone and my legs show. And someone says,"nice legs stiff!" And everyone laughs.

Chapter 3 I wake up the next morning thinking that it is the last day I get to see my parents, and it's true. I'm afraid and I have to choose in front of everyone. I enter a big building with exquisite details everywhere. They call everyone's names and I'm next. Teagan. I have to prick my finger and put my DNA in a giant bowl with THE BRAVE written on it, so I do that and I leave the building with people my age in black suits. I pass by my mother and she looks disappointed. I ignore it. We have to run to a big black building and we get there. Then I fell and someone helped me up and his name is Jason. He doesn't say anything, but we run the rest of the way together. He is handsome. I have a new problem. A good one.

Chapter 2 Today I'm taking the test that will determine who I am. I'm afraid but I need to leave my parent because I can't handle that career, it bores me and it's complicated. I'm put in a room with three other people. One of the government leaders hands me a paper and pencil. I start my test. The questions are easy so I speed through it quickly and when I'm done I hand my paper to the government leader, Cato. Later that afternoon I get my results and it says, Dear Teagan, Your results are rare. You have two results. The scientist and the brave, don't tell anyone ever or you could die and dispose of this paper when you are done. Choose wisely. Sincerely , Cato I'm in danger and I'm afraid. I can't be in the scientists so I have to choose the brave. I'm in danger and there's nothing I can do. Help.

My name is Teagan. I live in a world you can't explain. Everything is neat and boring yet difficult. I'm now fourteen and it's time for me to pick one of five careers. Guarding the city, running the government, growing food, creating technology, or taking care of people with no careers. It's really hard to pick one so we are taking a test. Tomorrow I will take that test and it will determine who I am. my parents are running the government. If I choose a different career I won't see them again. But I can't stay and I need to be free.
