Black Lives Matter Black Lives Matter is a movement A movement that started to finish the works of our predecessors. A movement formed to let young black people know that we are important, That we are worth it, Because throughout history, we have been beaten down and told otherwise, We were told that we were inferior, We were told that we were nothing, Because everyday, we are still told that. So, why is it that when Black Lives Matter is mentioned, Some people say, "what about white lives?" What about them? Nobody needs a White Lives Matter movement. Everyone knows that white lives matter No matter where you are, you know that white lives matter Our history books have taught us that white lives are more important than any other skin color Our social media has taught us that white lives are more important They show us that one white doctor being infected with Ebola is more important than a nations of black people that have been infected with the same #life threatening disease They show us that a white person who shoots up a church is an isolated incident, but a black person robbing a store defines the whole community Black Lives Matter is a movement that draws attention to these facts It draws attention to the fact that different races are treated differently, It makes people think, "don't all lives matter," And that's the point. All lives do matter, but sometimes, we refuse to acknowledge that fact, So now we have the Black Lives Matter Movement, And the Black Lives Matter Movement will remain until we all learn.

Wanderlust I want to go on an adventure, To a far away place, Where none of my problems will follow, Where I can be at peace, Be happy and enjoy the moment. I want to go on an adventure To a place where I can wander about without a fear, Without a care, Where I will be free. I want to go on an adventure Where I don't think about our commercial world Where it is just me and nature Enjoying each other's company In bliss and harmony. I want to go on an adventure, To an exotic place, Where I can meet new people and try new things, Where I can take risks. I want to go on an adventure, To a gobsmackingly amazing place Where I can just be A place where I will belong. I yearn for such a place. I am wanderlust for you.

The Turmoil The gloomy night's sky is a reflection of my soul The turmoil and brewing storm evident in my eyes. There is no peace, There is no calm, There never was. Just destruction, Just sadness, That's all there is.

Betrayed and Alone I was his and he was mine But then he broke my heart and left me for another girl, A girl I used to know, A girl who I had once called my friend, My best friend. Now I am standing, Lonely, In the crowd, Watching them laugh Watching them hold hands, Watching them kiss, Watching them do what we used to do. I stare at them Through my soulless brown eyes Saddened that I was not the one Saddened that it was her, That she was the girl who encouraged me to go after him, The girl who knew everything, The girl who was a sister to me. But in the end, She betrayed me, Betrayed my trust, Taking him away from me, When she could have had him from the very beginning, Sparing me from the numbness I feel in the chasm where my heart used to be, But she didn't, And now I'm alone.
