Chapter 1
It was a beautiful day in the city of Dyléan. My sister, Emily, and I had just arrived at the park. She insisted on coming, she was only 8.
Emily got me to push her on the swing.
"Mykayla, what are those on your wrist?" She asked as I pushed her.
"Umm... They are nothing. I just drew on myself with pen this morning." I replied.
I didn't want her to know about my secret. I was an amoblia. An amoblia is a human, with human feelings, senses, and everything like a human. Exept, amoblias have a robot like mind, and powers. My mother always told me to stay away from them, and I'm sure she told Emily too.
Abruptly, Emily jumped from the swing and came close to me.
"You are and amoblia," she said with wide eyes. "You have magical powers, don't you?"
I looked up and then back down at her, that's what my mother must have told her. The 'magical' powers were wind, water, fire, ice, and earth, they had always fascinated me.
"Mykayla don't lie to me," she pleaded in a hushed voice.
I crouch next to her and said, "Yeah, I am. I know I can't lie to you," It's true I can't lie to her. It's impossible with those round, intense, caring hazel eyes. "Do me a favour, don't tell mom, dad, Brooke, Kyle, or Collin, ok?" I squeezed her hand.
She just looked up at me and said, "Tell them what?" She chuckled and took off for the open field ahead of us.
Be free, Emily, I told myself as I sprinted in the tall grass to keep up. I took slow careful steps, she loves hide and seek. I peer over the tall grass in search of her. But she is not in sight. I called her name. No reply. Again, still nothing.
I hear a piercing scream and turn to see a SWAT holding her by the stomach. I groan as I fall in the grass. I roll to avoid a kick, and set the SWAT who hit me, on fire. I stumble up and start to run towards a descending SWAT and Emily. He turned so fast I almost knocked them over. He held a gun to her head and his hand over her mouth.
"Don't move or she's done!" He announced with adding in a smirk.
Tears rushed down Emily's face. She gave me a mischievous look and bit the SWAT in the hand and she dropped. Before I could reach her someone shot my leg and I fell. I let out a wail of sheer pain and Emily raced over to me. Only being 8, she looked like she was 10. I stood with pain shooting up every inch of me. I grabbed Emily and we bolted as far as we could until the SWAT stopped us.
Emily was ripped from my grasp and I screamed until my lungs burned. Emily tried to kick and fling her limbs, but there was no use.
They had 4 SWATS on me, two for my hands and two for my feet. There was 2 on Emily. They held her by the feet and hands. She wailed and cried and would not calm down.
"Hey Emily, calm down!" I yelled over the noise. That didn't seem to help at all. She still put up a fuss.
Around us people stared, just frozen and not able to help us.
Some man emerged from behind a truck and held out a cloth full of horrible stench. He closed it around my lower face. Everything went black.
