In The Clouds Withered leaves have seen their daylight once more, Seeping sunlight: on my skin it pours. With closed eyelids, ripe to dream, I lie awake; travel to many sights unseen. I float above, with the clouds I bind, The fiery sun, it parches alive. It leaves burns, sets ablaze, The layer of skin- left a darker shade. The breeze that blows over my body and soul, Lifts me higher, where I watch the sun stumbling its last final stroll, Violet, peach and lemon hues, Disappear: vanquished into dark blue. With every moment, another spark explodes, It twinkles, burning fiercely, aglow. Darkness swallows the blazing beacon, Left alone, never weakened. I open my eyes, eyelashes blinking, I'm disintegrating, I'm sinking. Back to reality, to the bitter green grass below, Not floating, lying low.
