Henri Cartier-Bresson My Thoughts All of his images draw awareness from the focal point, which is never in question. Bresson creates a viewpoint that becomes antisocial and quizzical with the ability to capture frames from a different perspective to what many photographers would. He views situations in ways that many photographers wouldn't see and he leaves the viewer questioning the outcome of the photographic story. Bresson utilises weight to create an even balanced image, this is essential to his style. He knows how to construct an image from lines and shapes to create equilibrium within an image without weakening the composition, however this isn't obvious when you first view the image due to the moving character. His work is often referred to as 'decisive moments' and a lot of this is revealed in the work he created for Magnum. The catalog of Bressons work is know as documentary photography yet it defies what it documents and takes the viewer to another places of misfit characters. If he tried to release pictures in mainstream newspapers today they would be far to expressive and overpowering for the text.
