Our Enemy A #poem I did for a project at work to do with World War 1.. Hope you enjoy. Dust fills my mornings, dust fills my afternoons my feet have spent so much time in water I fear they'll swim away soon BANG... In the distance is all I ever hear I don't even feel it anymore, numbed by the fear LIES! They told us lies with hero eyes, And our enemy they demonised Our enemy.. Our enemy.. He's just like me, The joy in their faces when they beat us 4-3 A football game I'll always remember, 1914 on the 25th of December We spent Christmas with our "enemy" Comrades and Huns, extended family But back to the trenches my home not so sweet home, Surrounded by guys just like me, but I've never felt so alone. The cold metal an extension of my arm, The bullets my sorrow, my fear, but not my calm.. It gets harder and harder every single day, Memories, and thoughts, begin to change, Snow and ash I can't tell the difference anymore, Wishing and hoping when I go home everything is just like before... Just like before...
So I haven't posted in a while, been quite busy. Since coming back from Brasil, you're probably thinking where is he? But then again did anyone even really miss me? Promise to post more, I'll make them better. Have your hands up like I'm David Guetta. Umm.. No I'm not. But all I want to say is don't forget me (dot dot dot)
