A Plane In The Distance What's that in the distance? Showing nothing but determined persistence, At first only feelings of confusion, Perhaps it's merely just a dilution, Then confusion turns to fear, And suddenly everything becomes clear, Piercing screams come from the highest floor, Do I chance it and make a run for the door? The smokes tendril like fingers wrap around my thoughts, My stomach tangles in intricate knots, Is this really my end? Surrounded by destitute friends, Can anyone hear my endless plea? Too many bodies fall like broken debris, Ill try to brave and try not to cry, Now it's my turn to jump and to fly.
