You Can't Take This Away From Me #CRPS
As previously stated, I'm a fan of Baseball. Recently, my friends and I were discussing on twitter how our favourite hobbies were something most of us had only taken up after we were struck down by CRPS.
One friend struggles every week to her hobby, watching Speedway in Grays. She often feels awful for several days afterwards. But she recently exclaimed - loud and proud - "I won't let CRPS take Speedway away from me without a fight!". This made me realise that I was the same with Baseball.
Although I am lucky that American Baseball is televised online, so I can watch it from the comfort of home, it doesn't quite have the same atmosphere as being at the ballpark, catching a home run/foul ball, cheering for your team and singing 'Take Me Out To The Ballgame' in the Seventh Inning stretch (although I do do that at home). I am hoping to go to a local British game once the weather improves and my shifts coincide with a home game.
I'd love to go to Chelmsford and cheer the Essex Redbacks in their 2012 season, but know that CRPS won't make it easy for me. The wind will hurt, it's a long trip, there's no stands, and it could be called off at the last minute. But like my friend said, "CRPS will have to put up a big fight before I give up Baseball!".
