road trip A quick goodbye to our friends, knowing that we'll stay in touch. A meaningful goodbye to our families We want to go by plane but realize we're broke. Load your car with our limited possessions, a few clothes, our cat and some cigarettes we picked up from the convenient store down the road. You drive and Im in the passenger seat. We listen to the radio, even though we are too far out in the country to get any stations we like. Stopped in a small town near the highway, we stayed the night in a small family owned motel, the walls are thin and we can know exactly what our neighbors are up to. You wake me up early in the morning, we share cups of coffee on the patio and watch the sunrise. We're back in the car, neither of us know exactly where we are going but just happy to be in each other's company.
