Chapter 8 Hjjbfjhwebfghwebgahrenghjerbfjuaegb<<< oh that? That's just the rewinding. .. "sounds like a plan!" "well sir, I hate to say this but the lad is getting utterly close, I'm going to hang up now. See you as soon as the Lord wills" "right" replied Luke almost instantly. Staring down the empty streets, things began to blur. Obviously, we were accelerating too. Swerving past corners, going down dark allies, skipping worn out stop signs, it all felt like we were racing against time in a crime scene of a movie. All this unnoticed chaos happening in the midst of the peaceful neighborhood with families settling in their beds. It was ten p.m. now, and I was sourly missing my cosy bed. It's fresh, crisp sheets and it's distinctive sweet smell. They way it would welcome me into its arms and wrap me in its warm duvet. I was hazed at the thought of it all. But I had to keep myself awake and alert. .. Luke's point of view ________________ *bleep* I received a message as I was reversing out from a dead end my GPS lead me into. It was from Justin. I was horrified. How did they get his number? I made a mental note to remind Justin not to tell Leslie the whole thing, the horrid part of the text. It indirectly hinted that they would kill Leslie at any cost, whether they get the money or not. Apparently it was too big a risk to let her free after they got the money Justin guessed. I was now on my way to the police station. I had called in to get things done faster but unfortunate was I that I found the line to be busy. Meanwhile, my thoughts were wandering...who was this guy working for? Was he on his own? Or was there a whole gang behind it all? Oh boy, it would take forever to get a whole gang behind bars. I arrive in less than fifteen minutes not even bothering to turn off my engine. Barging into the main office didn't seem a problem. I start describing the whole situation. It took more convincing than I initially thought it would but they finally agreed (why do they think all eighteen/nineteen year-olds were immature and unserious?). That was only when I emphasized on the fact that all they currently had to do was keep a watch from here, camouflaging in the night. Then I headed off, to wait one block away, just as I was instructed. I sent a text informing the driver that i was in position. No more than 5 minutes passed when I heard a loud deafening screech followed by a crash. My hairs stood on end and my ears pricked up like a cat. I had the sudden urge to check it out but instincts told me to wait. .. Cab driver's point of view ____________________ This by far has officially been the most thrilling night of my #life. I've always dreamed of being on a secret mission or whatnot, as you see, my #life has been plain and tedious. That's why I accepted this offer so eagerly. Right now, receiving the signal, I'm heading towards the police station. This lad is 'in for it' as most teenagers would say. I am in a position I honor at the moment. I can imagine myself telling my lovely grandchildren all about it(I'm not a grandfather just yet). They'd be so proud to know they had a brave and adventurous grandfather. As soon as the police station begins to come into view, the lad realizes what we were up to and as if it just gave him a boost of motivation, he sped right up in an attempt to smash my dearest cab. But I wouldn't let him out of all people, touch it so I did an unexpected sharp turn as soon as he was close enough and that sent him flying into the lamppost. Everything's quiet for a moment so I decided it was my chance to drop off Leslie to where luke was waiting, while the lad was lying unconscious. Or so I thought... ========== I'm posting this at 4 only because i want to work on the next one, this one is getting a wee bit longer than I norm do i hope you enjoy
