A Small Gesture "Because she's Asian, she doesn’t celebrate Christmas" I heard someone say My first time in prison I'll be here Christmas Day I can't see my babies' faces When they unwrap their gifts I was feeling low And my mood needed lifts I got back from work and found it on the floor A picture coloured in by an inmate It said 'Merry Christmas' -she'd slid it under my door That made me feel happy and welcomed ##poetsin #poetry #kindness #Christmas #prison#life #gratitude
