You Taught Me To Survive Alone For all the nights I laid in bed With saddened thoughts stuck in my head Alone, I wondered where you went While striving to recall your scent I guess you wanted me to learn How to sleep at peace till your return For all the times you weren't at your phone Left crying to thin air and a dial tone Denied your voice to calm my fears No one to wipe away my tears I guess you just wanted me to know How to cope by myself when you'd have to go For every time some floozy spread Laid out for you in your hotel bed While I was holding down the fort Four kids and me, without your support I guess you left me all alone To teach me to survive on my own #poetry #lifelessons
