Crying softly in the dark You think I can't hear the tears you hide Who would think a grandma cried? But with a mournful shot, a reminding hark I hear you crying in the dark There is an emptiness which haunts in sleep the memories which you do keep As you know one day they'll dampen your spark and leave you crying in the dark You feel as though time snatched your years Through your fingers it fell as tears So many coulds and woulds and mights Followed by shant and cant and fights your mind screams yes, your body croaks no So in frustration you just let go So now apart from the #life you know You sit and cry silently out of show But I promise you grandma that once you're gone With a new lease of #life, in me you'll live on.
