I'll just shed a tear or two, Over me and you, And think of what could have been, To torture me through and through... Maybe I'll cry for a bit, As I remember your quick wit, Maybe my throat will ache, As I remember you baking cake, Maybe I'll despair over poor grammar And the care - Taken in hurried sentences, And lost ways in dramatic entrances. Maybe I'll look back as see your smile, The promise of more, that was taking a while, Maybe I'll cry, over the hope I lost, Maybe it's better now, at a lower cost, Maybe later I'd be lying in pieces, Not just a few tears, But a heart with a million creases, Maybe now is better. A few tears won't hurt. For hope is not yet real, whereas our love could have been. What is a greater loss? The loss of hope for something or the loss of something? I guess neither are really seen.
