The Devil Dogs Have Come All around they surround me Watching me silently as I go about my day Creeping behind me quietly Holding their breath till I lose my way I enter my room and I close my door My heartbeat pounding away And as I flick out the light to let in the night Their eyes fill with glee, ready to play They claw at me and writhe in dark And I scream but no one hears Run for the forest, run to the woods Maybe I can lose them there Hiding and praying and crying, I sit Up in a tree and they growl below I hear a crack in the wood as it splits The bough breaks and falls, and down I go Their jaws are snapping as I come nearer The ground rushing up to me as I greet my death They tear me up, their claws digging into me And I let out one last scream with my final breath.
