Nails & Soccer Gotta love the feeling of the warm water in my feet as I sit back and relax. The woman introduces herself as Yaneily - I live in Miami this is a totally acceptable name - and she asks me to pick a color. Deep Purple. The turbines starts and my feet disappear beneath the blue bubbly water... Finally some me time. Breath in and out... But this is no ordinary pedicure. This is not an ordinary day at my salon. Where normally a "novela" would be playing, today its the soccer match - Colombia vs Greece. The sanctuary where woman come to gossip, get beautiful or hid from their families for a couple hours is full of stylists wearing their team's jerseys - Colombia of course! There are husbands actually here today and as Colombia scores their second goal the cheers are loud and proud in this salon. Cant help but enjoy in their celebration.. After all I too am a huge soccer fan. The celebrating calms and everyone replaces the usual "chisme" talk with soccer talk. Stats, player info, stories about past World Cups. I find it unusually calming. I take a deep breath in and sit back, turn on my chair massager and relax. What could be better than an afternoon getting pampered and enjoying the World Cup at the same time... Tomorrow's my day - Ecuador vs Switzerland .. Vamos mi Tricolor!! ⚽️
