Boom I layed in the dark, staring up at my ceiling fan. Every constant loud bang from upstairs made it shake, causing the little on and off strings to dangle against each other. When would this end? I thought. What were my upstairs neighbors even doing?? I couldn't find the energy to go upstairs and find the culprit of these obnoxious disturbances. Why has this been happening all night? Why hasn't anyone else in this apartment building gone upstairs to check? I had to get up for work in 3 hours. "Boom" It went. "Boom." Enough was enough. I sat up and furiously kicked off my covers. I slipped into my pink rope and slippers and marched down the hall. I jabbed my finger hard against the "up" button on the wall outside the elevator. Even the soft 'ding' of the elevator doors opening hurt my throbbing headache. In the elevator, I went from angry to uncomfortable in a matter of seconds. Although I was all alone, I felt something was wrong. The yellowish lights reflecting against the shiny metal walls, the quiet tune of elevator music playing. It was all wrong. The lights flickered. "Boom. Boom" With trembling hands I pushed the 'open doors' button. 'Ding' the doors opened to reveal a small boy, around 6 or 7, standing completely still, covered head to toe in blood. He had messy black hair, wet with blood. I stumbled further back into the elevator, shaking. His eyelids opened, to reveal completely white eyes. No pupils. No irises. I screamed. Suddenly, all the lights went out. "Boom. Boom"
