The Lake The young Andrew was traveling trough the woods when he first noticed the singing. It was soft, sad but beautiful. Soon he found himself dragged by the notes of the song, far away from his original path until he arrived to the little lake, secluded between the pines and the mountains. In the middle of the water, a rock was standing and on it, a beautiful woman of pale skin and long dark hair was lying, naked under the pale light of the crescent moon. Thick fog was coming from the water and crawling slowly trough the forest. As he stared at her, he stepped over a fallen branch, and the noise attracted the attention of the woman. “Who is there?” Andrew walked to the open, leaving nothing but the water between him and the strange woman. “I am Andrew. I…” He made a pause, long and deep. He had forgotten were he was going or what the purpose of his trip was. “Come here Andrew I.” The air was cold, but the water was warm and inviting. Without removing his clothes he walked in the water and started advancing towards the woman. As he tried to swim, he got dragged towards the bottom by the vegetation of the lake. As soon as she saw him disappearing under the water, the woman dived on his direction. Andrew was fighting to get rid of the long stems and leafs keeping him under the water when he saw her approaching. Her long hair was floating against the pale#moonlight and her face was not longer sad, but smiling. Only then he realized her legs had turned into a fish tail. He fought until his last breath under the water, even that he knew he was lost. She saw the man stopped moving under the water and she got close to him and kissed his lips once. Her face turned grim again, but she did not seemed to cry, since tears are unnoticeable under the water. She came out of the lake and rested on the rock that was in the middle of the lake. Her long hairs were softly pushed by the breeze and little by little she got dried under the light of the pale moon, beautiful, with a sad smile in her face and her perfect, naked body exposed. As the last bubbles emerged from the water were the body of Andrew was, she started the first notes of her song. It was soft, sad but beautiful.
