Premonitions. "I had one of those dreams again, doctor." The sudden words of his patient took him off guard, having his notebook and pen still on the table, but he knew how to react to this type of unforeseen starts. Slowly, trying to show no haste, Dr. Brundenvait opened his french stylus while looking at the young man over his thick glasses. The man was suffering from sporadic "day dreaming" a very light case of schizophrenia. For the last seven weeks he had expressed his conviction of having premonitory dreams, and tried to prove once and again how accurate this visions were. The young man looked very agitated. It was more than obvious he had not taken too much time to get dressed for that appointment, or maybe he had been up all night. His face looked oily and his hair was a mess. Evidently ha had not shaved in days and his clothes were wrinkled, his shoes were cover in mud and the overall look was simply pitful. The doctor also noticed the man was looking in both directions and checking the content of his jacket constantly, but in a discrete way. "Please Jasson, tell me what you dreamed." "I dreamed I died." The therapist fixated his eyes on Jason's only to discover his staring back at him. "Jasson, to dream with our own death has many different meanings. A common one is the act of rebirth. We dream of our death as the end of a chapter in our lives and the opportunity to start a new one. Another common interpretation of dreaming with our own death..." "No!" Jasson screamed loudly. "It is not a metaphor. This was a vision, like the others." Dr. Brundenvait realized he was not carrying with him the wireless panic button to advise that something was going wrong in the session and call for help. True was he had installed the system four years ago and had used it only for the first two weeks, but today his professional instinct told him it would be a good idea to go get it. "How did you die in your dream, Jasson?" The Doctor left his chair and start walking slowly towards the bookcase in the wall behind him. He had done this in several other sessions, looking for some text to support his arguments with Jasson. The young man had proven to be after all an intelligent and logic person. "I kill myself with this gun." The doctor turned just in time to see Jasson when he took a revolver from his jacket. "I shoot you." Jasson continued while aiming at his psychiatrist. "Then as your assistant tried to open the door I locked behind me as I walked inside, I shot my self." The last words of Jasson convinced Dr. Brundenvait he had made a gigantic mistake. "You manage to get to the bookcase before loosing your conscience, just to realize that the wireless button you are looking for is not on top of "Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality" where you last remember to have seen it."
