Rain Dance Rain tiptoes on the sidewalk in the night. A fair girl seated in the window gazes out. Darkness hugs the silent, empty streets. Out the door strays she barefoot, in solitude. Moonlight glows, blanketing the path. She strides softly into the woods, not to be seen. A gentle breeze begins to hum a tune. Her dress rustles on her lean silhouette. A nearby creek pitter-patters rhythmically. She who is alone smiles and lets down her hair. Gentle thunder rumbles in the distance. Spinning carefully with utter grace. Aspens rustle and wolves are heard howling. Extending her arms, she twirls with her head back. Cracks of thunder split the evening air. Her soaking hair whips around with her. The wind howls ferociously. Leaping, waltzing, she laughs carelessly. Intense roaring from the storm. Passion in her performance elevates. Jagged bolts of lightning lace the sky. She pauses, sighs, and leans against a tree. The wind has calmed, the thunder but a grumble. Her smile has faded, and she pins up her hair. A single star peeks from between the clouds. She turns back in the direction from which she once came. Flowers whisper a soft, warm farewell. Away into the dark she strides. Rain tiptoes on the sidewalk in the night.
