The Week... Part 1 "Mum please I really don't want to visit Aunt Mags this year." I begged "Oh come on Chris it's only one week a year, besides when you get there you can wander around, meet some new friends and you only have to spend the evening with your horrible family." "Your not horrible, just very annoying", I muttered under my breath. "Enough talk, go finnish packing and don't forget your phone charger like last time, I don't want you using mine again like last year it is very inconvenient." Mum blabbed on. So yes I am being put against my will to go visit non-toothed, stamp collecting Great-Aunt Mags. This week drags on so much and it comes by so fast, I'm 16 I should be allowed to stay at home for the week, I could have my friends over to keep me company and I have savings so I can afford food. I don't understand why my Mum doesn't trust me. My mum and I are on our own, well apart from our great-dane Jackson. I got him when I was ten and he is basically my world. My dad left us when I was two so he could move to Switzerland with his girlfriend who he started dating while he was still married to my mum. Since then my mums #life depended on protecting me. She works as a hotel receptionist and I managed to get a part time job as a waiter while I finish my GCSE's. We don't have a big house - but it is big enough for the three of us. "Meet you in the car Chris!", Mum yelled. "One minute!", I shouted back. I grabbed my hoodie and ran down the stairs, jumped the last four like always and ran out and shut the door behind me. I hopped into the passenger seat and turned the radio up. I turned around to see my monster dog taking up all three back seats and chewing on a phone shaped dog toy. Mum was singing along to 'I Knew You Were Trouble' by Taylor Swift and I was staring out the window with my dark wayfarer sunglasses on. Trying to come up with some benefits of visiting Aunt Mags. All i could come up with was her boxes and boxes of Coca Cola. It explains why she has no teeth.
