Letting Go Slowly but surely It all went away The feelings, emotions, I've thrown your way Right here, At this current event I'd like some relief Get things off of my chest I'll start with a small little story A few conversations, Brief moment of glory It started one Sunday One bright afternoon Location was holy So I got a clue You sat there, you listened I prayed you'd be mine And then, when the time came You said no, and I sighed Time started passing My feelings arose "We want what we can't have" As the saying goes I left it alone, rested a little And shortly my prayers Were heard By the preacher This time we engaged A conversation, a few Finally, I had you at... "Let's get dinner for 2" One to another, A thing led to more More secrets, more insight We shared them across I heard you When you said You're not ready for another Yet this did not simmer my passion and desire Reality hit me And then you were gone Not out of my thoughts But far out of sight And now it is time I confess into you My beautiful #poem, My ballad of truth This scrupulous feeling, It passes and goes, The dangerous notion Of love that's been lost The anger has passed me Disbelief took its toll And now I just wish That one day, you'd return It's hard to get over A challenge to surpass The unanswered questions The time that has passed Confession is ready On the table lay cards The feelings I render My heart I poured out Yet one thing that's certain The hope I long for That one human being Gives a chance, maybe more #life gives you lemons Sometimes they're not ripe And when I have picked you The pleasure was mine Now I hold no grudges I want you to know The feelings inside me Are slowly let go With time, with some patience, A drink, maybe two Without getting anxious, I'll let go of you.
