The Town Forest.
#6
She had no idea how deep she had got into the forest, every tree looked the same, it was so dark, cold and eerie, there was no way of telling if she was going right, left, forwards or backwards.
The deeper she got the more she sensed something was shadowing her. She span on her heels peering through the darkness, was there something there? She couldn't be certain. She tried to calm herself but her heart was racing. Adrenalin pumping she started to run, it was then she heard the distinct noise of twigs snapping behind her. She dared to look behind. What she saw chilled her, to her very core, she fell to the ground and tried to clamber back to her feet, all the time seeing the shadowy figure edging closer. It was tall, skeletal, and creeping in its movements, it was gathering momentum. Lexi summoned all her strength and struggled to her feet, the time she spent shocked and glued to the floor, the creature got closer. She was panicking, running in any direction, she had no idea where she was going, she knew she had dropped and left her bag by the creature somewhere, and so there was no hope of calling for help. She just had to hope she reached a road, and soon.

She stood in the darkness not knowing what to do. She looked dishevelled, her chestnut hair ragged and out of place, debris and rips on her clothing, her bag lying on the floor somewhere in the darkened forest behind her. A road lay in front of her, go left or right? The road split the forest in two, all she knew was she was not going back into the forest.
