Customer Service I have done sales jobs for nearly 10 years now and made a substantial amount of money doing it.recently I realised that I hated it and applied to be in the RAF.While I'm waiting I thought I'd get an "easy" customer service job and boy did I get a shock! Iv never put up with so much hassle in my #life. I originally enjoyed it,fixing people's problems, making sure the customers happy ect. Then I realised that I was the only one taking ownership of problems!even my manager and the owner of the company pass the blame.iv seen it happen in massive corporate companies but this is a small company.its because of this iv realised that the reason customer service people are so despised by customers is that they don't get paid enough to care and therefore no one goes out of their way.no one takes ownership of problems.its all about low call times and answering the most calls!iv always understood that sales staff make more than most in a company because, let's face it of you don't have sales you don't have customers or revenue but surely looking after your "loyal" customers should be regarded as important too? I think it's time companies both big and small pay their customer service people a decent wage and show customers that they do matter.customers would be happy, sales would flow and companies would make money.everybody wins!
