Ours We talk a lot, every day and get to know each other in the new light we've discovered. It becomes so much more than anything I've ever had with anyone else. Where as I used to be the girl who definitely thought she was going to marry her new boyfriend of one week, I turned into the girl who was honestly afraid that she had really found the man she would spend the rest of her #life with. What happened to the numerous high school flings and summer loves? The meaningless kisses and flirty winks? The boys that come and go? The tears wasted on them? None of that would happen because I had already found you. And it was scary.

Unexpected I didn't expect to break down in the middle of my stairs. I didn't expect to be crying so hard I couldn't talk. I didn't expect to not even acknowledge my father staring at me from the bottom of the stairs. I didn't expect how much it hurt. I didn't expect to just lay down in the shower and cry while the water ran over my shaking figure. I didn't expect for my night to fall apart so quickly. I didn't expect to hear the words "Pop passed away an hour ago."

Sudden Realizations Some nights you just sit there and the past year flows through your mind. You realize you're not the person you used to be. You realize your friends aren't the same ones you used to have. You realize your goals have changed. You realize your attitude has changed. You realize what you want to do has changed. You realize everything you've known has changed. These are the nights you realize the friends you have now were not a good choice. You realize you should not have changed, for it was not for the better. You realize you need to get back to the old ways, the old days, with the friends that made you a better person.

Ours It was August 15, 2011, the Monday before school started back up. I was sleeping over at Meghan, one if my good friend's houses. She brings you up and I remember you from your visit over the summer. First time I thought about you sense then. She talks about how cute you are and how she just got your number. She starts texting you, talking to me about how she likes you even though t was the first time y'all had ever really talked. I decided to check you out, see if I approve. She gives me your number, we texted that night for awhile, you seemed like a cool guy, a bit full if yourself though. Talk more over the next few days, learn we have a lot in common. Last school year I got used and rejected by a guy I really liked, and I was still completely obsessed with him. You had a girlfriend who went off to college and broke up with you. We helped each other through the hard times, became good friends, I could talk to you about anything, you could talk to me about anything. Got more personal, learned each other's secrets, our wishes. Soon after, you text me, telling me about Meghan asking you out. It hurts a little but I congratulate you and say "I hope you said yes." You said you told her it would have to be an open relationship, because you liked me. I pretend to disapprove for my friend's sake, saying how you should like her instead, I'm secretly very pleased that you like me too.

Ours The first day I ever met you, you had come to my church visiting family. I thought you were just the most attractive thing, and I told myself I was going to make out with you by the end of the day. I guess it didn't matter to me that I had never made out with anyone, ever. So I talked to you for about five seconds, and I tried on your aviator glasses to flirt with you. I remember you saying something about how all the girls loved your glasses and you couldn't figure out why. Personally I thought it was pretty obvious that all the girls complimenting your glasses were flirting with you... That was the first day, over the summer, and then I forgot about you until the Monday before school started up again.
