Just Like Me To know that not too long ago, another rhino went extinct, Another child died from hunger, Another girl was horrifically mutilated, Another soldier died in a war, Another judge was bribed, Another criminal walked free, Another bear was baited, Another person was sexually assaulted, To know that God looks down on us, And does nothing, Why should I pray? Why should I have faith? Why should I spend my Sundays pretending? Pretending I am a saint, when I could actually make a difference? Why should I worship a being who does nothing? A being who does nothing. Just like me.

Spritely Giggles(Repost Of Old Old Post) On this very merry day, With the sun shining so bright, Ive something I must tell you About strange occurances at night It seems that each and every night, Whilst I am fast asleep, Some little spritely fairies, Come and steal things for their Queen! They take all the shiny things, Like knives, forks and spoons, So I decided that I would, Hide them on afternoons The fairies sure turned up, For I found a note that said, 'Meet us in your garden, Two hours before bed' So that night at eight'o'clock, I stepped into my yard, And what I saw was amazing, Gave me a warm feeling in my heart Thousands of little people, With tiny silvery wings, Each of them holding, Sharp and pointy things One of them spoke, It was music to my ears, 'Give me all your metal, Or Ill unleash your darkest fears' I replied in but a whisper, 'Your beauty is so true, I shall quickly just go fetch something, Ill be back in a minute or two' I rushed back in the house, And grabbed a pen and paper, I held it up to the lead fairy, 'Can you sign it?No? Maybe later' She looked at me with eyes of ice, 'Do you remember what I said?!' I said 'Yes ofcourse, dont be silly, You said, "Get here two hours before bed"' She slapped her forehead, her eyes wide 'My god you are so stupid' I smiled and bent down to pick a flower, And gave it to her, the orchid She blushed, giggled as she smelt the flower, Her smiling teeth so white, 'It seems you found my weakness, I shall not steal from you at night' For it turns out that the Orchids smell, Makes fairies weak at the knees, And that they make their homes, In the trunks of old oak trees It was a night Ill never forget, A night Ill always remember, But I do have one regret, That the fairy didnt sign my paper

The Monkey Who Downed The Milkshake (These are song lyrics, so if they dont work as a #poem, they work with the music Im trying to create to go with it ) We gave a monkey a milkshake, And told it to down it in one, And the monkey picked up the milkshake, And downed it in one go, Now, this monkey it didnt speak english, Or french or spanish or dutch, And it got us wondering, Well, how did it understand us, How did it understand us, You see this monkey was ripped from its mother at birth, And raised in a little barred cage, And the poachers would come out to feed it, And this monkey would hear them say, "We're sorry we killed your mother, We had no other choice, The big companies had bled us dry, Paying too little for our crops, And whilst the companies offered us pennies, The gang members offered us guns, They offered us guns." This monkey, it understood them, Realised they had no other choice, And they took care of him best they could, But soon they sold him on, And he was taken across the planet, To the same place where he met us, All chained up, At a beach, A tourist attraction, It was then the monkey told us, Exactly what he'd been through, Not with words but with his eyes, Staring right into my soul, And I rang up the animal helpline, And I called the police, And he was taken to a sanctuary, But he could never be released, But he lived out his days happy, In the company of friends, He lived with other monkeys like him, And he became a dad, He had a beautiful little baby, Who had eyes just like his, And the monkey died the very next day, But I will never forget, The monkey who downed the milkshake, Died happily.
