We stopped running, I could smell someone familiar. "Jane?" I call She comes through the trees, holding a small child in her arms. I can see that she is asleep. "This is Lilly," she says "Aro says she is the gifted child. I don't know what that means, and came to see if you did. Carlisle? Have you heard of this child?" "No." Carlisle replies Suddenly, Lilly wakes up. "Mother," she says to Jane "who are these people?" "Other vampires," she replies " Jane, have the Volturi adopted her?" I ask "Yes," she says " I know of the gifted child," Alexis says "Please tell," Jane says "Legend says that she will stop ageing and have abilities beyond the norm, but that's all I've heard." "Thank you " jane says, and leaves. "She will be interesting to study," Carlisle starts "I wonder if....." He mutters to himself. I don't know what the Volturi are going to do to that child, but I am worried for her.

We ran through the forest, jasper carrying Rheanna, Esme carrying Evie, and Edward carrying the twins. Suddenly, I heard something. I stopped, and so did the others. We all looked around the trees cautiously. Suddenly, two figures appeared from the trees. Seeing Jacob, Rosalie hissed. Rheanna squirmed in jaspers arms, so he set her down on the floor. She ran towards the other figure, who I recognised as Alexis. "Didnt think I would let you go alone." Jacob said "Stay away, because if you come your whole pack of mutts has to come, dog." I said "Layla, calm down." Sam said. Jasper calmed me down using his power. I mouthed thank you at him "But Nessie needs me," Jacob argued "Jacob, run near us, so alice can still see." Said Carlisle. "Fine." Agreed Jacob. We ran on through the forest, Alexis next to me on one side, Sam on the other.

I whimpered. During my 'alone time' in my 'bedroom', I sat on my bed and cried. I hate my #life. Being a slave for the Volturi was bad enough, but it was even worse when your best friend had stopped seeing you and talking to you, meaning you couldn't see your blood sister or family. There was no point in me existing. "LAYLA!" Aro roared. I snapped to attention, ever since the Cullens had left me my curse had come back. "COME HERE!" I walked into the throne room, and bowed. "Yes Master?" I said. "I have been informed that the Cullens have left you. Is this true?" I gulped, holding back tears." Yes" "In that case, we have a job for you. Find Rheanna, Alexis and Evie. Bring them here then wait for further instructions." "Please, do not make me do this. I'm begging you." "Are you refusing instructions?" Asked Caius "N...no master. Ill do it." I replied "Yes Layla.You will." Aro said "you are dismissed." I hurried out of the room, under their glares. And crumpled on the floor. I had to bring my sister here? And two of the people who used to be my friends? I couldn't stop it though. They used my name. I ran to the Cullens house, making sure no one heard. I could hear human heartbeats, so I located the room where Rheanna and Evie lay. I scooped them both up, and ran to find Alexis. I could hear her voice, but unfortunately she was in the living room with the rest of them. "Sam, are you sure you want us to forget Layla?" Esme asked "Yes." Growled Sam. "But she could be killed by the Volturi!" Esme said "I don't care. She is no longer a part of this family" Sam hissed I gasped, exposing my position. Edward read my mind, and I was thinking about what the Volturi had asked me to do. "Stop her!" Yelled Edward. I broke into a run, even though I knew Sam would teleport. As if on cue, she appeared infront of me. "I'm sorry," I whispered. I briefly touched her arm, and she fell to the ground. I ran on through the night, but suddenly someone had me in a headlock and was holding my arms so I couldn't use my power. I dropped the humans, and they woke up. "What's happening?" Asked Evie. "Nothing you need to know about." Said alice, as she took them back to sleep. "Edward, why is she here?" Asked Rosalie "She was bringing Evie, Rheanna and Alexis back to the Volturi." Edward revealed They all gasped. "What do we do with her? We can't let her go, she'll try again." Emmett asked "I don't know," said Carlisle, " but I have an idea." "Why can't we kill her? She's best buddies with Jane" Sam said "No. " said Carlisle firmly " she can live with us but not as a member I the family. Emmett, jasper, you keep a close watch on her." They nodded, and took me back to their house.

Sam came through a portal in the wall. "Leave me alone," I said "C'mon Layla, do you really think I'd do that? After all we've been through? The Volturi are nothing, they don't matter. Come home," she replied "No," was all i said next "Why? " she said "Because Alice had a vision of me killing you." I revealed She gasped. We stared at each other in shock. Suddenly, Jane entered the room. Sam hissed, and backed up against the wall, scared of what she could do. "Jane!" I said "Layla," she replied "would you like me to take care of Sam? It heard like you were arguing." "No thank you," I replied "just...be ready," She stood by the wall, waiting. " Fine. " Sam said " stay here. Just don't expect us back anytime soon." And with that she teleported through the wall, leaving me with Jane. A few hours later, I stood in the main hall. The guard stood around the edge, watching me carefully. "Aro," I said "I have returned," "I can see that," he replied in a harsh tone " may I...?" He asked, gesturing for my hand. I let him. He saw everything. "Training. Now." He said. "You are now officially a slave,"

I curled up on the bed I had escaped from, trying not to cry. I didn't want to return, but my curse had almost killed the strongest vampire I knew. If I could do that to him, I would hurt the ones I loved even more. That could not be allowed to happen. Suddenly, Jane entered the room. I braced myself, but realised that she was without Alec. "Hey Jane," I said "Hello Layla," she replied, "Why have you returned?" "It wasn't safe for me to be with the Cullens. I could not control myself and almost killed one of them." I explained, on the edge of tears. "Oh," was all she said. She hugged my briefly, then hurried to the other side of the room whilst Alec came in. I cringed in pain as Jane used her power on me, even though I knew she was trying not to hurt me too much. Alec, however, kept on fighting me, and I didn't use my power on its high setting. Despite the fact that Alec hurts me, Jane loves him; they are true twins. Jane has never been evil. She has always been on my side. We are like sisters when we are alone, only we never get the chance to be.
