My Shooting Star I look into the midnight sky Sitting on the hill I watch a white dove fly on by And everything went still Suddenly I heard a boom And then I saw the gun The white dove fell to its doom And I thought it was done Sadness then surrounded me As I ran to the little bird I wasn't at all happy And I didn't breath a word Then I saw a man, not too far away Putting the long gun down If I were to have it my way I would of made him double frown He walks up to me And I put the dove on my lap He pets the small bird smoothly And swooped the dove up in a snap He held the poor thing by its feet With blood dripping from its side I got up from my grassy seat And found I had lied I told myself it was dead And there was nothing I could do But with a twitch of its head I knew that wasn't true I ran up to the man's side And bonked him on the head When I saw the bird I nearly cried It was almost completely red I ran to my house and grabbed a kit I came back and washed the dove The feathers beneath the red lit You would be able to see it from far above I shielded my eyes from light And looked back on the ground And saw the dove all white I was much too surprised at what I found

The Time Is Now A test a test Could it be? On a Friday or a Monday We will have to wait and see A quiz a quiz Could it be? On a Tuesday or a Thursday Or maybe in between Questions questions Waiting to be answered Not by you or by them But by one who has it mastered Is it now or is it later? Is it present or future? You need to be prepared Or the test will find you scared You don't know what it will bring Unless you study You don't know when it will come Make sure you are balanced and steady It will happen when you least expect it Stuck in the bottomless pit You where not ready for what was to come And you found yourself really dumb
