Mirrors
Into the bright looking glass,
I see someone new..
A memory stirs, fresh grass,
And the early morning dew..
I look into the looking glass,
At tired worn out eyes..
That once were bright and radiant,
Like an auburn sunrise..
I look into the looking glass,
At sunken hollow cheeks,
That once were filled with pink..
Unnoticed now for weeks..
I look into the looking glass,
At dull and thinning hair..
That once were long and shiny,
Matched a hue so fair..
I look into the looking glass,
Dark arcs under the eyes..
From tired days and sleepless nights,
Now hidden in disguise..
I look into the looking glass,
And see someone new..
Beneath who lies the real me,
Known only to a few..
Within the bright looking glass,
Lies another me..
Eyes auburn like the sunrise,
Wanting to be set free..
