Lucid Dreaming;Chapter One It was a Stormy Day. Merritt and her younger siblings sat curled near the fireplace readig wonderful stories. The youngest sibling reading Dr.Seuss, the middle aged reading Hunger Games, and Merritt reading Sherlock Holmes. Merritt loved a good mystery, she had read Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys too! She herself was like a detective. She had always loved solving puzzles. She owned her very own finger print scaner, magnifying glass, and she had an old pair of fragile spectaculs. She lived them. Sherlock and Watson went together like beans on toast. It was her favorite story to curl up and read, and ofcourse she had read it more than a million times. Not even Queen Victoria could resist such a book. It was Sunday, the clock was just striking noon. Merritt had just moved to Maryland from London. Her father had gotten a job in America. France, Italy, Russia, Brazil, anywhere could have been better. But America? Their greasy food and terrible culture made her shudder at the thought. Back to Sherlock Holmes.... Her favorite story from Sherlock Holmes was A Study in Scarlet. It refelcted her in so many ways. She loved it, so much she read it everyday hoping for the best. Hoping her father would get fired and they could move back happily. She could be with her best friends Landon and Ramona. Merritt missed them so much. She skyped them everyday and dreamed of them. If only like the old days they could have tea and scones once more. Hopefully justuce would be served one day. Merritt read until it turned dark. She finished the story once more happily. Her library was full of books. Maybe one day she would get to them. It was almost ten and her parents were still out of the house.
