Rain The grey blanket groaned It rumbled; It grumbled Then all at once Came a spark of light And splinted the sky Into halves Into quarters The first few pearls Came down soft And kissed The dying seeds; But next that followed Like an archer Arrowed the ground Fiercely Mercilessly But finally When all was over The grey sky broke And revealed its treasure: A stroke of colours That's ever so bright Beautifully In the sky
