Caved In She was panting. Again and again ,she climbed over the trenches and the roots of the big trees. The men that had found her were now far behind, but she didn't want to take any risks. She had led them in the opposite direction as much as she could. The forest seemed to be her haven before; but now it was her home, which undoubtedly was now exposed. She finally reached the little cave. After her mother had been taken away by the secret police, this little cave was all she had left. Her mother had known what would happen. She had told Enere to come to this little cave: if anything happened to her, this would be her home. And her home it was. When she arrived there, there were stacks of food, clothes, blankets, what not! That was months ago. Enere was down to her last rations of food. She had sold of most of the blankets to standard who came hunting in the forest. She sunk down by the candle in the cave. Oh, how she did miss her mother. Suddenly the cloth that hung by the opening tore away. Standing at the entrance were the very men she led away from everything she now knew. Her heart started to race as one of the men leered at her and cracked his knuckles.
