BLOODIED LIPS BLOODIED LIPS It is easy they say, to invite the devil in But much harder they say To make him go away In my own home I was content with the simple #life, When the going got tough i still could hold my own but then he came, my saviour he proclaimed promising a better #life I should have learned from what history had taught the good Shepard eventually turns From proletariat to hegemon For tyrants first come In a savior's guise. Mine turned out to be A wolf in sheep clothing Fed me with an empty spoon And stabbed me in the back He told bedtime tales, vivid as a 20/20 vision He filled me with hope he rocked me to sleep Lo and behold he slapped me awake Looming over me in the devil's true form My hands were bound and my voice was gone My cries for help became silent screams All they earned me Were punches to the jaw Bloodied lips And a swollen face Protesting my fate earned me broken bones Common sense warned that I must close my mouth But my spirit wouldn't cow Or negotiate with a terrorist I refused to be bound by the shackles of fear I see him for what he is, A pest and a leech A Human being who lost the nature of himself He lives the #life of a beast, His is the jungle law Taught by the devil's advocate "to conquer a nation First disarm the citizens" A full movie theatre against one gunman Such a scary thought? Imagine a disarmed nation against one tyrannical man... I knew I must find my voice, for the devil must be exorcised Then I had an epiphany, of David's sling shot, A vision of Thunder claps, And lightening strikes Rain of brimstones signals the devils end I hear the echo of words from a famous fool "The tyrant has fallen, the people are free" It's a vision of hope For every dark cloud Has a bright silver line So my spiritual will burn My bonds will be loose, I will rise again With bloodied lips but a triumphant soul My strong will will finally saved the day

THE STATE OF AFFAIRS I sit and wonder about the chaos in the world, Africa in turmoil, it's a ship in a tsunami. We have pirates at the helm, everything is topsy-turvy. Like sailors with scurvy, the leaders are intellectually-starved. They are thieves and tyrants, killers and liars. All the rulers really need a personality-transplant. Its constant mutiny on the ship by rebels with guns Spreading grief and strife like metastatic-tumors. This social-pollution is all around the world Big Nations become bullies, emotionally-handicapped. The small ones prostitutes morally-castrated. Politicians engage in egotistical-masturbation, They promise so many things, all diplomatic-lies Banks had to receive financial-resuscitation For the nations to avoid economic-suicide. ON LIFE'S ROAD He trod and toiled, along the rocky road, burdened on his shoulders, by the weight of the world. Obstacles abound, he stumbled, he stalled, along #life's road, he wobbled, he fell. With a resolute heart, he got up, he crawled, voices in his head urging him to walk tall, to fight against the odds and make it in the long haul. Though on the road, many are the pitfalls, through perseverance, did the snail reach the ark, so shoulders to the wheel, He never ever skylarked. Some took the short route, jumping on the gravy train, he choose the high road, he lived by the road code, patience, humility, sacrifice, hard work, faith in God and the words of wise men. The journey, though long, finally made it to the end, The train, though fast, made it to a dead-end.
