Mixed Messages You say you still love me That you miss the way we used to be That everyday you spend ages thinking of me That you wish my smile you could once again see. But you don't realise you left it too late That the most you will ever be is just a mate That yes I'll meet you for a brew but it certainly isn't a date That we separated and what has followed is just classed as fate. You say you realise you treated me bad That you left me broken and sad That you understand why I was so upset and mad But your only line of defence is that it was a phase just stupid fad. One swear word please do not read if you are easily offended* Honey take a seat, over there in a corner would be ever so sweet Nobody can be arsed listening to you bleat, we'd rather all fill your boots with concrete. Stop with the constant attention seeking cause you won't see anyone weeping Nobody's gonna hand out the tissues for the tears you're forcing, more like wait for you to stop so we can say anything. One single moment There was a sense of panic The world seemed to be rushing past me and daddy Everything seemed to be so manic Hooked up to monitors, and a midwife with a caddy. They found you kicking away Inside my tummy, turning and twisting Assuring me that you are safe and it's where you are to stay We lay there for ages just quietly watching and listening. That was our terrifying moment, when the world seemed to fall away That one single moment that will haunt us forever Thankfully you are still here kicking all most of the night and day And we are a family of four ... A year ago Who'd of thought a year could change so much Going from not knowing to loving your touch We have fitted into each other's lives We have held each other through the lows and the highs. A year ago our existences collided Our flaws and pasts excepted neither of us minded A year has changed so much about me No longer the scared girl you used to see. A year ago childhood crushes reunited Both of us feeling we were once very short sighted I never envisaged what would happen and how we would grow What number the dice would land on with each and every throw. Here we are a year down the line Still going strong and our family doing just fine With our New Years news patiently waiting to be announced to all Let's just say year number two we'll be having a ball!!!!!
