Page One I moved to Ireland in 2001 just after 9/11. I had lived all my #life in Texas and was very tired of cowboys, country western music and the hot sticky weather. So Ireland's wet, green, cool weather was heaven to me. I love the moist Irish air. It hits your face and enters your lungs with thousands of years of history. No fire ants, snakes , armadillos or freon air. Just cool moist Irish air free from ozone. Having lived in Texas, when I opened my mouth to speak to people, they would get all excited. You see the TV show "Dallas" was very popular here. When someone said Hello to you they wanted to know where you got that wonderful accent. Now to me it wasn't wonderful or pretty. It was Southern. I had heard it all my #life. Nasally, drown out and whinny but not something to enjoy. To me the Irish accent was something to enjoy. It was like listening to a song. Up and down it went just like a lovely melody. I could listen to it for hours. Page two and so on. . . . . We landed in Shannon after being detoured to London in Boston. This made the flight a few hours longer by five hours included the lay over. Here I was in London but only in the airport. I could have been anywhere. Atlanta, LA or Dallas but then I heard an accent from the sandwich girl. An accent I had heard on Public television. It was simply lovely. Much better than the movies cause it was real. Not Hollywood make believe from someone who took leason.
