My Treasured Possesions I have a box of treasured possessions Next to it my bag of lies and confessions It holds: The first leaf of spring on an ancient tree The first sight of land after months out at sea The last wise words of a wise old man A picture from when the world began A howl of a wolf staring up at the moon The first ray of sunshine after a long monsoon The fist flap of a bluebirds wing The first few notes that it will sing A sight that no one else has seen A fulfilled wish and a forgotten dream A secret that will never be told A book that's new and a book that's old No one else can see them so they complain Because they all lie in my brain!
