Second Thought On Gone With The Wind Scarlett is lovely, yet definitely not "a"amiable", even Rhett would agree with that. She started out fresh and raw, as a country beau, dream lover of almost every man around her, except Ashley, who unfortunately is someone she loves. Then (as with every story) she went through the hardships of #life as the war turned her #life upside down. Tremblingly holding a carrot in the field, she said my favourite sentence in the novel: I may steal or even kill, but I'll never let my family starve. (this is how I remember it to be.. Pardon me, Gone with the Wind fans, if this is not exactly what she said) That was the point when our little lovely lady turned into a strong woman, a woman who stares right into the future , fearless. She is not a perfect angle-from-the-heaven type of heroin of a story (like some Jane Austin ladies ..) Yet this is what is attractive about Scarlett. So lively, with a frightening straightness. It's like she can almost leap out of the page and walk to you with her green eyes dancing.
