The Discharged (I wrote this for an assignment we had last year.. Sorry if it's a tad long! Enjoy!) Breathing deeply for what looked like his last breath, a young man lay in his hospital bed. The last bit of #life in his eyes kept drifting, the last bit of hope his friends and family wanted to see was leaving him with haste. He knew his time was ending, coughing and aching he knew his #life was soon to end; he had only celebrated his 20th birthday a few days before. A tear slowly ran down his cheek. He was looking for the light that he so desperately wanted to enter. He wanted death and he wanted it immediately. His brother was screaming, begging for him to stop. He wouldnt listen, his eyes started to close leaving this world for the last time. The typical clinical smell began to leave him, along with the homing sight of his beloveds. The light was slowly, but surely getting smaller in his eyes. While one white light got smaller another got bigger, he was in close grasp of escape. His mother began to cry and scream begging for him to wake up. The floor began to shake, the ceiling crumbling. He awoke. His friends began to focus on hospital that was falling around them. They knew what was happening and they knew this was pay back. Fire began to flow through the corridors; windows began to smash, glass flying everywhere, oxygen tanks exploding. The smell of burning flesh invaded the whole building. People were dying and they were dying fast. Too sick to escape the young man was stuck in the hospital bed watching the carnage unfold around him. All he could do was wait for something to happen. More dust was falling; no one would have been able to see through it. A flash of red had invaded the room, instantly blinding the young man. He had no sight, the heat becoming unbearable, starting to burn through his skin. Minutes passed and the hospital structures had lost the will to live. The authorities did what they had planned to do. They destroyed the final members of a cult of terrorists that has been planning on creating carnage. The young man was the son of the head of this crime family and this was the only reason he was in hospital. He had failed in a suicide bombing attack. This gave the authorities the perfect opportunity to get the crime family and their allies while they were vulnerable, visiting a dying son and close friend in hospital.
