The Demon That Lurks -part 2 “Remember me?” Those fearless eyes still haunt the minds of those whom witnessed it. Even the killer itself. “Please... No...” Small, frightened voices cooed, tears falling. “Your time is up.” A fearless voice whispered, smirking that wicked smile, claws retracted out. Held upon their throats. Within a split second, it was all over, no hesitation. Blood spilled everywhere, carcassed bodies laid over the crimson stained terrain. Once green, now red. Curdling screams crawl back to the mind of this killer. Who is this killer you might ask? Well… It’s the one who swore to come back and gain revengance. The demon that lurked has returned with full rage, full power, its murderous ways engulfing the thoughts of others. Indeed it is… Atreiyu. Slaughtering those innocent lives screeched in her mind. The looks on their faces, the fear and terror that brought her killing instincts into action. Atreiyu stood there, panting heavily, blood dripping off her black coat, trickling down her black bangs. Flowing off her gashed muzzle. It all happened so fast, no one saw it coming. “I told you I would return...” A wide grin appeared upon her face, showing those bloody stained fangs. Pushing herself over the same sable grey wolf that stood tall on the other side of the same chasm many years ago. Chuckling loudly, she ran off into the darkening woods, leaving blood paw print trails behind her every step. Unaware that this was dangerous for a creature whom is being hunted by the hunters themselves. She swerved around vines, leaping over hollow trees, crunching the autumn leaves. Claw marks scar each passing tree, showing that ‘IT’ has been here. Atreiyu stopped, standing above a tall rock shaped outwards. Enough to hold and represent her full potential. The wind blew her crimson coloured fur, black patches of her coat untouched swivel up and down. Tail held behind her body. She looked around, smiling proudly for what she had done. Only to howl a murderous melody, terrifying, ear piercing, fearful. The call of a killer. It ended with pure insanity. Ears flattened, head now lowered to normal height, claws out, fangs baring. Atreiyu chuckled aloud, shaking her head, she looked over the valley, scanning each spot, crack, tree, for her next victim. She always depended on instinct and most of all, her demon’s point of view. That was her top priority. A small movement cracked in the distance, a moving figure running through a dirt path. A smirk played on her face. Atreiyu howled in joy and leaped off the rock, skidding down a wall of rocks and dirt, leaving trails of deep claw marks. Suddenly, rocks collapsed beneath her paws, she was caught off guard when the whole mountain broke away from the wooded forest. It was all in slow motion, she felt fear for the first time, breathing faster, panicking. Atreiyu closed her eyes for what seemed like the end, when everything went black. What seemed like hours, was days. The rocks crumbled as they moved, revealing a large black wolf, battered and broken, bruised and beaten. It was Atreiyu. Deep cuts and open wounds weakened her body, blood staining the rocks and her rustled fur. Dry and unremoveable. Slowly, weakly, she dragged her limp body away from the collision, only to come face to face with yet another pack. She stared them down, earning growls as she tried to pull of her usual wolfish grin. Atreiyu stood up, but cringed noticing her ribs and front right paw was shattered. “What do you want.” Her voice came out deep, harsh, more so annoyed and irritated as snears and snarls cackled from every which direction.. She was completely surrounded. Unless she went back up the unsteady mountain that consumed her a few days ago. “Get out of my way before I do something I won’t regret.” She twisted up a snicker, earning a loud snarl as two wolves dared step forward. “We’ve heard a lot about your killings… Demon.” Atreiyu chuckled. “You find this amusing?” She raises her head to stare at two grey wolves with light patches of wood brown. Analysing closely enough, she smirked, showing her bloody stained teeth. “Oh, I find this highly amusing, no wolf has dared challenge me.. If so, have never won.” Her point was stated clearly, no more weakness hovered in the air, the pain of broken bones was pushed aside to deal with later. There were other things that needed to be dealt with first… For instance, this. Atreiyu laughed, shaking her head, “You seem confident, mutt.. Perhaps you could share some of it with me?” A smirk played on her face. “I challenge you till one of us submits.” The male wolf growled. The female Alpha whined, tugging his shoulder, “Don’t, please.” He licked her cheek and stepped forward, his mate stepping back with her pack. An echoing laugh cackled from Atreiyu, she was stunned at his sudden burst of courage and bravery, “Very well.” She replied. The two wolves circled each other, waiting and watching each other’s moves closely, snarling and snapping. Herself limping with her front right paw lifted off the ground, but ignored the stings and shockwaves of pain that rose each time she stepped on it. All waited for what seemed like forever, until one made a move. The wrong move.
