Academy Of The gods Chapter 1 This story begins in a large forest in the centre of a place named Chrome Valley. The hills and mountains are silver, the sky is yellow and there are two suns and several planets in the sky. In this valley live two twins, both fifteen years old, these girls are witches, they are immortal beings with magical powers. They used to live on earth before being sent to this distant planet. people on earth, humans, had tried to wipe out the population of "witches" since the dawn of humanity. People had noticed that some had strange powers, some people could use these powers at their own will. While others used them accidentally, and without warning, a building would be set on fire, a tree would grow a mouth and chase after people casually walking near by. It was these sort of people that humanity had to get rid of. However... they couldn't be killed, their heads had been chopped off, they had been hung. And shot but still the people lived on, their heads grew back and not one of them was even slightly harmed. The normal people on earth tried and tried to kill these witch people for many years but no one was successful and the witches began to fight back, using their magic. hundreds of humans were killed, those who remained decided that it was time for them to plan a way to exterminate them forever. It took several months and many deaths to finally come up with a solution to the witch problem, the ultimate solution was to send them into outer space then blow up the spaceship they were in, so even if the explosion didn't kill them, the lack of air would suffocate all of them and peace would be restored to earth! However, the humans didnt know that the witch people were immortal and nothing could kill them! All the known witches had been gathered at the nasa space station. One by one they entered the space rocket. Kaila and katie were at the end of the queue. The long walk to the space ship was making katie nervous, some of the railing melted as she walked past. Kaila held her hand and whispered, "dont worry katie, you know we can't die." Katie was still worried. "but what if we get separated in space? I dont know what i would do without you, Kaila" Katie was now crying and had caused storm clouds to gather around the space station. "Katie, dont worry i promise i will stay with you, no matter what." just after leaving the earths atmosphere the ship exploded and they were thrown through space, separated from each other. Two of the witches, Kaila and Katie flew off together through space and were lucky enough to land on a planet that was habbitable. It was an oddly shaped planet, sgaped like a triangle and bright green in colour. They found a valley and a forest after a short walk across the surface of the planet, the hills were silver and shiny, the sky, orange and beyond the swirls of rainbow colours there were several planets and two suns floating in the sky above. They walked into a valley, with silver mountains either side and some blue trees sparkling in the distance, they walked towards the trees and once they arived they were greated be a group of odd looking people who had three legs like tripods and large spiky ears, like pixies. They welcomed kaila and katie to their forest "welcome visitors, to the forest of Chrome" they chanted. kaila looked up at the trees and saw there was ladders going up to houses built into the trees, she nudged katie who also looked up and asked one of the tripod pixie people if they could stay for the night as they had nowhere to go. The leader of the tribe said it was ok for them to stay for the night. They climbed up the ladder and settled down for the night. They went to lie down on the beds, made of wood, and stopped because on the bed were two strange looking animals, katie was about to sit on what looked like a mix between a kitten and a rabbit, it had pink fir and cat like ears but looked like a rabbit it was sitting down on the bed with its front paws held out in front of it, it looked at katie with its big glowing eyes and katie picked it up and sat down with it on her lap, "its so cute" she said "i will call it pompom ^_^" kaila picked up her creature, which was not as cute as katies, it looked like an ordinary fish, but it had small legs and feet. "eww, its all slimy, but i want a pet too!" she said enthusiastically, " i will call him cracker" then after a while they both went to sleep, listening to the sounds of the wild#life. The next morning they awoke to a quite different scene to the one they has seen before they went to sleep. Katie was tied to the edge of an old tree, her arms attached to the tree with rope, unable to move anythhing other than her head she looked round to see kaila being pushed by a group of people into a cave in the wall of the valley. She scremed "Kaila!!" but she quickly stopped when one of the guards whipped her and told her to shut up or they would rip her head off. The day turned to evening and katie had not seen or heard from kaila all day, the guards had left katie now and she needed to break free from the tree. She looked round for something to cut the rope, but there was nothing. The animal she had nearly say on last night, the creature she named pompom, was walking around by the tree. katie called it over and tried to make it bite the ropes, it tried but it wasnt strong enough to manage it. Katie bent her head down and opened her mouth, she was going to try and bite her own way out! She bit her teeth into the thick rope and moved it through her mouth, she was screaming in pain but continued to bite away ferociously at the rope she was bound together with. She began to bleed at the mouth but still she carried on, then with a sudden burst of pain, her front teeth fell out and blood flew ecerywhere. The rope was almost broken, pompom leaped up and bit through the remaining rope, Katie fell to the floor in pain. Through the pain, Katie saw vaguely, a bright flash of light and her pet pompom had somehow turned into a broomstick, it spoke to Katie "im sure you know how to use one of these, considering you are a witch" Katie couldn't talk due to the pain but she nodded slightly in reply. The broomstick hovered in the air slightly above and told her to look up, she did and at that moment a bolt of lightening beamed out of the end of the broomstick. Katie was no longer in pain amd her teeth had grew back, she felt full of energy and jumped onto the broomstick and flew off into the valley to find her sister Kaila. She flew through the trees and into the air, looking out over the valley Katie saw a light coming from a cave in the wall. She flew down to see what it was. It was a fire. She dismounted her broomstick and walked over to the cave, the heat was immense as the flames became closer, she could see through the smoke, Kaila was tied to the cave wall, the whole cave was on fire and kaila was screaming in pain. She shouted to her sister. "Katie, these people are no different, everyone in the galaxy wants us dead!! Dont rescue me, save yourself! Go, hurry before they return!!" Katie looked one last time at her sister, burning to death in the cave, and walked out, not looking back. Picked up her broomstick and flew away into the night. The broomstick talked to her once more, "don't worry she will be safe, but if you want to be free from this curse, follow the light to a place in the sky where everyone lives peacefully." katie had no choice, she couldn't stay here or she would also be locked up and tortured. She looked out for the last time over the valley, and saw a light in the distance. The broom said "follow this light until you see the academy in the sky" katie flew off over the forest and out of sight. The light was slowly getting brighter, the academy was looming into view, the sun was casting a almost holy glow over the building, floating in the sky, being kept afloat by the clouds it was standing on. She flew over and landed at the enterance, outside a huge golden gate. Beyond was one of the grandest looking buildings she had ever seen. She looked round and saw there was a couple of other people also waiting to enter. One person, a young girl about fifteen years old, was looking down at the clouds and crying. Katie walked over and comforted her Chapter 2 Alice was an ordinary school girl from an ordinary town in england, she had a normal #life, had normal friends and an average family. There was one strange thing though, she had the rare ability to read peoples minds. The first time she realised this was at school, in a very boring maths lesson. She was almost asleep, her head on the table, eyes closed, then she heard her friend talking to her, or so she thought. She heard her friend say "i wonder if charlie likes me?" Alice lifted her head up and looked at her firend, "what did you say about Charlie?" she asked "huh?" her friend replied, "i didn't say anything..." "yes you did, i heard you clearly, you asked me if i think that charlie likes you" "no i didn't" she daid worryingly, she began to go red in the face "but thats exactly what i was thinking!" she wispered in alices ear. At first it hapened at rondom times, sometimes this was good but there were times when alice wished she couldn't read peoples minds because some people think things she didnt want to know, but also at the same time there was some people that she actually wanted to know what they were thinking. She spent the next few months training her brain so she could decide when to use her power. At first she used it for comical things such as finding out if a boy liked her. But then she started being able to dive deeper into peoples minds, she could see everything that everyone had ever thought. People were getting worried about her and no one talked to her any more because they all thought she was crazy. Eventually she was forced to leave the school. She moved to the countryside with her parents to get away from the people she knew and hopefully find some new friends. Before she left, she had become famous in her home town as the psycic witch alice, people thought she was crazy because she knew everything about everyone and could see what they were thinking. One man thoight she was very interesting, he was a very very old looking man with a very long silver beard and a small thin wooden walking stick with a golden handle. He said that her talent was a gift from the gods. One day in their new home in the rural countryside, alice looked up at the sky and she could almost hear it talking back to her, it refered to its self as the god of magic, the clouds in the sky began to move in circles above alice's head. The wind began to grow stronger, Alices mother walked outside to see what was going on, she stood next to alice and they held hands and both looked up as the clouds seemed to Descend on earth, causing a hurricane as they approached, alice and her mother were lifted into the air and carried into the sky. They flew through the air for a while. Alice could hear what the sky was thinking, it was thinking that alice was a god and it was taking her to the academy of gods, in the sky where she could study at a school with other children who had experienced similar lives of having magical powers and being shunned from normal society. They arrived at the academy, it was a huge, elaborate building suspended above the clouds, it became apparent that alice's mother couldnt see it. Alice let go of her mothers hand and slowly she was lowered onto the clouds below her, she felt light as air and was able to walk on the clouds, she looked down and could see the fields and towns around were she lived very faintly in the distance, shrouded in fog. Then she heard a scream, her mother had fallen through the clouds and was falling down to earth, spinning and screaming as she fell faster towards the hard ground below. There was a low thud noise, then silence... Alice sat down on the clouds, overwhelmed with everything that had just happened, the death of her mother had not really sunk in yet, she looked blankly up at the academy and began to cry. A girl carrying a broomstick was walking over to her, the clouds moving like dust as her feet swept through the air. alice looked up and wiped her eyes. "hello, are you ok?" said the girl with the broomstick in a sympathetic voice. "yes im ok, thank you Katie.." "how do you know my name!" katie yelled in disbalief. "i know everything" alice said in a deep mysterious voice. "ok then, if you know everything, why am i here?" katie asked. "easy, because you are a magical person and people dont get along with you, however, someone thinks that you are a god and told you to come here. Am i correct?" alice replied. "yes, i am a witch and people keep trying to kill me, i was separated from my family when the space ship blew up. My sister is being tortured in a cave somewhere. But i managed to escape and fly to this academy, but i suppose you already knew that?" Katie sat down on the cloud next to alice. "yes i did already know, i'm psycic, i can read peoples minds." alice said. The huge golden gate began to open and katie and alice looked at it and began to walk over, they were joined by a boy who looked lost. They watched as the gates opened and a very old looking man walked out, his beard trailing across the clouds as he glided over to the enterance where the group were standing. "i am sayaka" he boomed in a gruff but powerfull voice that trembled slightly. "i am over five thousand years old and i am the head master of this very special school" Chapter 3 Regal was a normal seventeen year old student who lived on a housing estate and went to college, one day he was on his way to colege, waiting for the bus, when the sky turned very dark and he heard thunder, the shelter was full of people so he had to stay standimg outside in the rain. The thunder became louder and lightening struck a near by tree, regal ran away in fear that the lightning would get closer to the bus stop, this was a mistake at the time, but soon it was the best rhing he had done in his #life. He ran, the rain pelting him in the face, the thunder defening him, then he saw a flash of light directly above him, he fell to the ground, his whole body shaking. Next thing he knew he was lying in a hospital bed, attached to a heart monitor. The heart monitor made a beeping sound and the screen went from having wavy lines on, to just having a straight line, regal's heart had stopped, the doctors ran in and tried to ressisitate him, to no avail, regal was dead. They unplugged the machine and laid him down on the bed and pulled the covers over his eyes. His parents were sitting down on a chair near to his bed, crying, they requested to be left alone with him for a few moments. They were in the room with their deseased son for a few minutes before the doctors came back in and began to wheel the bed away, they got to the door and stopped, the blankets were rustling, then suddenly, Regal's corpse sat bolt upright in the bed, the covers fell to the floor and his blank expression stared at the doctors who looked terrified, they let go of the bed and ran away down the corridor. Regal stood up and walked over to the window, he opened it and to his parents surprise he grew wings from his back and flew out the window into the sky. He continued to fly up, beyond the clouds, guided by a voice he could hear above, "come, fly to the academy of the gods" he continued to ascend until the ground had dissappeared behind a layer of clouds. He looked out over the sea of clouds and there, in the diatance, was a tower and a huge building suspended in the sky. This was the academy of the gods! He flew over to the academy and landed on the clouds, he joined a group of people waiting at the gates. Chapter 4 Sayaka, a five thousand year old teacher from the academy walked out of the building and as he did so, the golden gates opened. He said a short speach, then told all the new pupils to follow him inside. Inside was like somewhere from a dream, the celing was made of golden clouds. The walls were lined with huge paintings of people with halo's on. The floor lined with an expensive looking carpet. The group walked forward through the room and into the main hall which was even more grand. There was a suprising lack of people here considering that this was presumably the first day of term and the day that new students signed up to learn here. Apart from the group consisting of Katie, Alice and regal there were a few more small groups of people sitting at tables. There was a stage at the far end of the room. On this stage was the headmaster who had been escorting them here just a few seconds ago. He had dissappeared in from of them and re apeared at the stage. He told them to take a seat so he could begin his speach. They all followed the instructions and sat down at the nearest table. Sayaka, the 5000 year old teacher was standing alone at the front of the stage, he looked old and frail, his beard almost touching the floor. Despite his appearences, his voice was suprisingly loud and clear. "welcome, new students, to the academy of the gods." he looked around at all the new students and muttered something under his breath. Then after clearing his throat, he continued. "you have all been selected to study here because our representative in your area believes you are capable of being the next god. You all have magic powers, each person has different abilities and personalities. In your first year here we will expect each of you to complete a series of tasks, these are to make sure you all know how to use your powers properly and are indeed worthy to be accepted into such a prestigious school. The tests will begin tomorrow, so i suggest you all go and find a room to stay in." everyone was murmering to each other and Sayaka could only make out a few of the words being whispered. "what, tests?!" "no one told us about this" "this is stupid, im leaving" "everyone, Quiet!!" Sayaka yelled at the top of his voice, the sound echoed all round the huge room and everyone stopped immediatelly and looked at him. "thank you, and please dont worry about these tests, im sure you will all succede if you believe in your powers and believe in your selves." this didnt really settle the students anxiety, but just so Sayaka didnt yell again everyone stayed quiet. Katie was sat with her bag on her lap, inside was a rabbit or cat creature, she still didnt know what it was, all she knew was that its name was Pompom. She was worred it couldn't breathe very well with the bag closed, so she unzipped it slightly to let it breathe. This was a bad move because it began to get excited and managed to break out of the bag and jump onto the floor, everyone looked at katie who had gone bright red in the face. Her pet was running arround the floor, katie tried to call it back, but it didnt work. Pompom wasnt listening. Instead it ran over to one of the other tables and jumped onto someones lap. Sayaka was getting irritated, he shouted some strange words and thrust a stick into the air, immeditelly the creature stopped moving and became dosile, it curled up on the persons lap and fell asleep. "right, you are all free to leave now" he looked at Katie, "i suggest you take more care of your pet in the future" he said smiling at her. Katie was nervous and went to reply but found her words wouldnt come out. The person Pompom has fell asleep On stood up and held the creature in his arms, it was still asleep. He saw katie and went to walk over to her but katie saw his glance and looked away. The boy walked over regardless as he wanted to return her animal. "hi, i think this is yours" he said to katie, who was still looking in the opposite direction. "mm" she muttered," just leave him next to me" she didnt turn round. The boy wasn't giving up, he wanted to speak with katie and return her pet properly. "My name's Ocean by the way, whats your's?" he asked nervously. Katie didnt reply.. There was a long silence for a moment, Ocean was standing waiting for katie to reply and holding the sleeping pompom in his hands. He looked at katie who still wasn't facing him and asked her "what's wrong, have i upset you?" Katie finally begun to speak, "no its not you, im just feeling quite sad at the moment." she repled slowly as tears filled her eyes. She turned round to face Ocean. Her face was red and tears were building in her eyes. Ocean didnt know what to do so he just held out the animal for katie to take, she took it slowly and then said, "its name is Pompom. I found it in the forest before i came here." she was beginning to look slightly happier, or so Ocean thought. From the other end of the room, some people were shouting "Ocean, Ocean, come on we need to find our rooms!" Ocean looked at Katie and said "thats my friends Carla and hiarkin, i have to go now, it was great talking to you. And take care of pompom." Katie repled "it was great talking to you too. My name's katie by the way" But Ocean didnt hear that because he had already ran off to join with the rest of his group of friends. Chapter 5 The group had found their sleeping rooms and had a good sleep, they were woken up suddenly be a message over the intercom. "The chalenges are about to take place, please head to the main hall" Katie, Regal and Alice all went down to the hall where they met with the other group on the way there. They all introduced each other and went inside. Sayaka was standing at the stage once again. Without warning the room transformed into an arena, the walls moved back to reveal a huge platform suspended above a pit of lava. Sayaka was floating in the air above them. He thrust his fist into the air and fireworks exploded in the sky above. Then everyone except Regal was lifted up by a blue light and carried over to some seats. Regal was stood in the centre of the stage, looking lost and alone, completely powerless. Then suddenly sayaka flew down and tansformed into a huge beast, the beast charged at Regal who dived out of the way. He turned round quickly to see the beast preparing for another attack. Regal remembered his magical powers, he focused with all his strength and wings sprung from his back, he flew high above the stage and tried to turn on his x-ray vision. He had never tried to use more than one power at a time so it was becoming quite difficult to remain airborn, he was struggling to turn on the x-ray vision, then suddenly he collapsed and fell back down to the arena, he landed face down on the hard surface with a 'crunch'. The beast was walking over to him, Regal could feel its hot breath, it was about to eat him. Sayaka let out a huge "RROOOAARRR!!!" and opened its mouth to reveal a huge set of teeth, dripping with blood. Regal was too injured to move, he knew this was the end, he let out a scream and collapsed. The croud were cheering and shouting for Regal to get up and fight. The longer regal was lying there on the ground, the more the croud started worrying. Katie knew he was unconsious and wanted to go and help him. She stood up and ran over to the wooden railings protecting them from the arena. She held some of the wood and ripped it off. Then she muttered some words and it began to hover off the floor. Katie sat on it and the wood lifted her into the air and she controlled it onto the arena, determined to save regal she flew onto the stage and ran over to him. She stopped as the beast turned round to see her, it snarled at her and then turned back towords regal. The beast roared and opened its huge jaw, Katie lunged forward and tried to stab the beast in the mouth with the stick she used to fly down on. She missed and fell to the floor next to this terrifying creature. The creature dived at regal and bit into him, katie looked on in horror as regal's head was ripped off by the beast. Blood flew everywhere as the creature devaured regal. Katie was froszen with shock, then she thought she should kill the beast. She cast a spell on the stick and it transformed into a huge sword. She took the sword and flew into the sky, the creature looked up, blood dripping from its teeth, regals head was impaled on one of them. Katie lunged down with the sword pointing directly to the mouth of the foul animal Sayaka had become. She plummeted down weilding the sword and it pierced through its mouth, causing yet more blood to explode into the air. One thing was for certain, it was dead. Katie fell to the floor exhausted and collapsed. The remains of regal's bods were spewed across the floor. The beast was also on the floor, with a huge silver sword stabbed through its mouth, and next to it, katie lay, unconsious. The croud were shocked, one of the new students had just died and they all saw it happen. The walls began to collapse back in on themseles, the room was transforming back to normal. Everything was silent for a long while after these events. All of the students were in shock, no one could believe what had just happened. The beast transformed back into the old teacher, the sword fell to the floor with a clank, he stood up and looked at the dead bodies on the floor. Please dont fear everyone, i decided these two students because i am aware that no matter how bad the injuries, they can not die. As he said this, katie awakened and crawled over to where Sayaka was standing, she sat down on the floor and looked up at him. She was shocked that he had tried to kill her and Regal. He looked down at her and appologised. Im sorry i didnt mean to hurt you, i do hope you are ok and i am almost possitive that regal will be ok and make a quick recovery. He and everyone else looked down at Regal who was laying in pieces on the floor, blood all around him. His head was laying on the floor and some of his body parts were scattered around. Then his head began to roll slowly across the floor. Then it stopped and everything went silent once more. The mouth began to move and suprisingly, regal was talking even though his head was completely detached from his body. He spoke softly, and it seemed, with much pain. " i am not strong enough to use my powers to rebuild my body, i used the last of my strength to fight with that beast. Katie, can you kill me, i dont want to live like this." katie looked stunned and answered slowly. " regal is there nothing you can do to save yourself?" regal replied "no i have no magic left at all, please, katie, kill me to end my pain and suffering." katie walked over to regals head which was looking at her with its clouded eyes, the mouth moved once more, blood dripping from it "use your broom, use magic, use anything to kill me, please katie, do it for me." Katie lifted her broom into the air...
