My Inspiration Shortly after my 18th birthday I walked into a tattoo parlour. My request must have baffled the heavily inked man behind the desk. Stood before him was a little blonde girl making a rash decision about a skull tattoo with tattered wings and empty eye-sockets. He tried to deter me. Little blonde girls have butterfly's, cherry blossoms and Chinese zodiac symbols! I reassures him...I wanted a Deadite!! The Evil Dead is a film that ACTUALLY changed my #life. I have read every word ever written about the series of films. The definition of real filmmaking starts with The Evil Dead. For a group of 20 somethings to have that much passion in horror is beyond me. It's the film that made me want to be a filmmaker. I had decided that much at the age of 10 and my first of many viewings of the film. I wanted to make films like that. I want to scare the living daylights out my audience. And I want to inspire just as I am by Raimi and his creation. So I hear The Evil Dead is being remade. I'm totally staying casual about this. I will probably go see it...but as a warning to those who wish to accompany me on this particular cinema trip, please let me have the chair on the edge of the row..nearest the exit. And Mr Raimi, you shouldn't have given it away so easy. And if you had to, you should have given it to me.
