Sunday Birds Sunday Birds March 21st, 2010 Sunday birds, Their singing ensue. Flowers bloom. They open for you. Recounting feelings lost... Do I love her? Gosh, I must! For, what girl is there, besides? This girl, for my shoulder, she cries. Her tears hit floor and not my chest... Heaven help my soul That can never rest. Shining eyes of no spring hue, Tremble for want of green and blue. Could deity grace me with her breath? A second heart beating near mine. Heaven watches false love spread. Love is lust, sin, money. Oh, is love Dead? Here, between two souls, who want nothing but the other, Such love is questioned by all. Is it moral to want one instead of none? Is it moral to fight doubt for hope? Her words, poetry to his ears. Written after many years. False love, false kiss did o'er take Till shadowed by mist did her heart break. Then comes him, she calls her knight Fights away the lies and spite. Turn, he says first, to our Lord. And takes upon his hand his sword. Gleaming with heavens light, he hopes, For it is night and the#moonshows He cuts off the shackles that scathe her skin. Then chain encircle them both therein. Links made glowing white Purest love and want but not in true time Year of bondage they must face Before they can receive relief For her: a man For him: grace. Cry every night, He did for love Never did he realize He had One above. A God who wanted To see him again as did she A God who gave her to him For him to see When love captivates the heart Scream in joy, "How great Thou art For giving me love To her express Whose spirit Thou didst before me possess" To their future, unknown To her whose light Heaven Has known To her whose light may rest At another fortunate man's chest To her who Graces all his day My love did not, Cannot, Will not, Fade away.
